“I keep abreast of Land-O-Lakes.”
Snort! Love those Indian maiden knees, do you?
We sell Evangeline's for six dollars a pound to a half dozen customers. It pays her vet bills.
The cow the woman is holding in the picture is a Jersey. They are historically said to give the richest milk with the highest butterfat percentage. The type of feed they are given prolly affects the flavor, too. Ergo, if a cow eats garlic you can taste garlic in her milk. Yuck!
churn it and you might have garlic butter, LOL
There is no such thing as $50/lb butter.
There are PEOPLE willing to pay $50 a pound for butter.
And please, dont spout off with an insouciant “price is what the market will bear”.
There is a difference.
Those that know that difference do winter weekends in St Barts.
Those that dont, do Saturdays shopping at Wally World.
“Cabot makes some awesome white cheddar~!”
We toured the Cabot Cooperative creamery and cheese making operation about 40 years ago and fell in love with their white cheddar. We still buy it today!
Unfortunately and alas, the last creamery tour was given two years ago today.
You just won the thread. :)
Away back in the day, Carnation Evaporated Milk was advertized as, The milk from contented cows”. Maybe still is. Never used it.

I've never heard of the term. Must be an east coast thing. I live at an elevation of 400 feet, but I'm surrounded by mountains. That term just wouldn't work in Alaska.
Of course it is, apparently to enough people that someone can make a living charging it.
Me, I buy Great Value butter and am content. Different strokes for different folks.
Quite possibly. The author says yes. Yet these goobers who didn’t even read the article are swearing their past the expiration date supermarket brand is just as good. On their plain knockoff white bread.
I always wanted to be an ad man.
Butter...its not whats bad for you.
Or, a cube a day keeps hunger at bay.
Butter... because its not too much of a good thing.
I would enlist Homer Simpson to eat a cube of butter rolled up in a pancake for the ads.
If I have a pound of butter that someone would trade me $50 for, then YES, it is worth it.
“What about the stupid people who spend thousands on a bottle of wine.
There’s a sucker born every day!”
Being a stupid and sucker must be lucrative.
I often find Kerrygold for $3 on sale.
Land O’ Lakes is no longer welcome here after their leftist political stand.
