Field report... it’s been some time since I’ve posted.
Got two great smile-inducing things to relate. I was returning to the office from a job site and decided to take a back road to headquarters. Reacqainting myself to my old home county digs since being away for five years and have returned.
I saw a nicely groomed embankment with some sort of landscape monument facing the path of travel. As I got closer I saw it was a “Q” done up with red brick inlay and a limestone gravel background. It was about 6’ in diameter! Almost as wide as my smile upon seeing it! Someone put some hours into that I’d say.
About a 1/4 mile further up the road there was a very large tree stump cut about 36” up from the ground with an unusual 45 degree bevel cut. The stump was painted white. As I passed, I saw a “Q” painted in black on the stump’s bevel cut face!
Those two sights certainly made my week. Sorry...no pics as I had two vehicles behind me and no real good place to pull off. The project I am overseeing will last for some time, so retracing my path back to the office plus being prepared for photo taking will be easy.
You know the drill.
Good to see you back!
can’t wait for the pics!
