Appearing on CNN with Anderson Cooper, singer Linda Ronstadt compared President Trump to Hitler and says she sees “great parallels” between the United States now and the Weimar Republic in Germany.

I’ve read that you have read a lot about the Weimar Republic in Germany, and you sort of see parallels between then and now.
Linda Ronstadt:
Great parallels. I mean the intelligentsia of Berlin and literati and all artists were just doing their thing, and as Hitler rose to power, there were a lot of chances to stop him, and they didn’t speak out. The industrial complex thought they could control him once they got him in office, and of course, he was not controllable.
By the time he got established, he put his own people in place and stacked the courts and did what he had to do to consolidate his power, and we got Hitler. He destroyed Germany, destroyed centuries of intellectual history, forward and backward. People like Beethoven, Goethe, and Thomas Mann became jokes. They became Nazi laughing stocks.

If you read the history, you won’t be surprised. It is exactly the same. You find a common enemy for everybody to hate. I was sure that Trump was going to get elected the day he announced. I said he’s going to—it is going to be like Hitler and the Mexicans are the new Jews. And sure enough, that is what he delivered.
These celebs think they know more than us, deplorables who are now the ELITE! Think they would realize by now that we do not listen to them!

The really disturbing thing is either she really does not see what is going on in the US, refuses to see it, or is actually a part of the leftist projection onto conservatives. She erroneously draws comparisons between President Trump and his supporters and what happened in Germany in the 1930s. An honest appraisal of the situation would come to a very different conclusion. It is in fact, again, the socialists who are demanding more power, more control, more conformance to their agenda. The fascists and fascism of the 1930s were a result of the socialists' desire for power and control. Sound familiar? Mexicans are not the new Jews, not the new persecuted class. The new persecution, the "common enemy" holding back progress and success...is according to the leftists and their lapdog MSM the various "racists" and "homophobes" and "islamaphobes" etc. Well gee, who are these various "-ists" and "-phobes" ??? Anyone who stands in the way of the leftist agenda, anyone who doesn't conform to their ideas and ideals, anyone who doesn't express the proper amount of enthusiasm and support.
