Not only was Roger the drummer, but his upper-register backing vox was arguably as key to Queen's sound as was Michael Anthony's backing vocals to Van Halen. Furthermore, Queen was a rare band insofar as each member was a decent songwriter - to that point, Roger's catalog includes songs that don't suck such as Sheer Heart Attack (wherein he sings lead and plays all instruments except for Brian May's lead guitar licks), Radio Ga Ga (which helped Queen steal the show at Live Aid 1985), and I'm in Love with my Car, which, because it was the B-side to Bohemian Rhapsody (due to Roger's antics to make it so), it generated an equal amount of publishing royalties for Taylor as the main single did for Mercury.

In a real world, all acronyms are defined.

Rock It wasn’t too shabby either.

Deacon had more than enough talent to be big on his own. Need Your Loving and Another One Bites The Dust are his, among others.

It’s hard to get your songs in with guys like Mercury and May in the band but they were a more collaborative band than most.

Told my girl I had to forget her, had to buy me a new carburetor... :)

Keith Richards on Mick Jagger being knighted: “Mick should have held out for a lordship.”

Gotta love Keith.

It’s a wonder that he hasn’t gone partially deaf, sitting in the eye of that noisy storm for so long.

Roger studied to be a dentist for a while, starting in 1967, at London Hospital Medical College. He soon became bored with it, and changed his major to biology at East London Polytech.

In 1970, Roger turned down the chance to be drummer for Genesis, which led to Phil Collins joining instead.

I’m a huge fan of his own indie work from the 80s, but the guy is an insufferable, depressed, angry lefty.
