The owner of a McDonalds in Kansas is defending his employees against accusations that one of them served a cop coffee with Fking pig scrawled on it, saying video evidence proves otherwise.
Dana Cook, who owns the McDonalds in Junction City, said in a statement late Sunday that a review of security footage from every angle inside the restaurant shows that message was not scrawled by employees, KSNT reported.
My McDonalds have the utmost respect for all members of law enforcement and the military and were troubled by the accusation made, Cook wrote in the statement. We look forward to working with Chief Hornaday as he continues his investigation.
Cooks statement did not speculate who may have written the message, which appeared on the cops beverage after a visit to the drive-thru early Saturday. An employee at the restaurant declined comment when reached on Monday, saying only that an internal investigation is ongoing.
At this time, we are not making any additional comment, the employee told The Post before hanging up.
Herington Police Chief Brian Hornaday, meanwhile, told the station that a review of the footage was inconclusive.
We deal with enough frustration in our daily duties every day, Hornaday told KSNT. To have something like this start off your work day while youre driving to the place where youre going to serve the citizens is just very frustrating.
Hornaday said in a since-deleted Facebook post that the unidentified officer received the insulting message while on his way to work early Saturday. The cop, who is also a veteran, was offered a free lunch after alerting workers there, Hornaday said.
No thank you, the post read. A Big Mac and large fries doesnt make up for it. The US Veteran who continues to serve deserves much more.

The move comes after the owner of the fast food restaurant
told KSNT that a company review of security video clearly
shows the words were not written by one of our employees.
********
And the race is on........
In the back of my head, I certainly harbored the thought that it could be fake because of the hoaxes.
But then again we have many documented cases of fast food workers actually doing this quite brazenly.
Soooooo I dont know, and will wait until some investigating takes place.
Yep... that deleted post sounded awful ‘entitled.’
Am I the only one that thinks that looks like something made on a computer?
I use a lot of sharpie markers, and that just looks off for some reason.
Just WOW.
What does add up is that the Herington KS PD is already known to be a bad department.
Gaaaaah. Danged Google transposed “Hutchison” for Herrington.
My apologies.
Every time this happens with a racist accusation, it turns out to be fake.
Isn’t this FOP fundraising season?
I don’t believe it.
Something smells fishy, and I don't think it's the filet-o-fish sandwich. The Local sheriff is pretty non-committal, saying We don't know the whole story and are saddened by seeing this incident in our community,. Sounds like he's not taking the officer's word for it. Maybe because his deputies go there all the time and never have a problem? The owner would be crazy to effectively call the cop a liar if he didn't have pretty solid evidence, and that the cops pretty much refused an apology and free lunch is a bit strange. Are they demanding some kind of sensitivity training, or the firing of the employee? And now the Chief has taken down his FB post...
commentary on Fox News:
Video can easily prove either way. They checked it and nothing indicated the cup was written on by the person who served the cop. I would sue the department, Hornaday and the cop involved. Also they need to make a public apology. Youre talking about ruining someones business if its unfounded. Hope theres a follow up.

Yes, just check the writing. It looks like it was written holding the cup to the side, so it could be either the customer or the server. But its distinctive enough to be identifiable.
And he needs to stop that bigoted video surveillance.
If a cop says an employee wrote something offensive then an employee wrote something offensive and it doesn’t matter what the camera footage shows.
Uh huh
We got you
cops lie.
LOL
“The employees know:
- There are cameras”
That’s true of every employee who truly did write nasty stuff on cops’ orders. They knew, yet they did it. This could be the same.
My BS meter says cop is lying
Maybe the cop wrote it for a paycheck? That is a valid motive.
Then why go to your chief rather than call the on duty manager immediately??
Rumor has it the cops name is Jussie.
Is this like the fake noose stories?
