The owner of a McDonalds in Kansas is defending his employees against accusations that one of them served a cop coffee with Fking pig scrawled on it, saying video evidence proves otherwise.
Dana Cook, who owns the McDonalds in Junction City, said in a statement late Sunday that a review of security footage from every angle inside the restaurant shows that message was not scrawled by employees, KSNT reported.
My McDonalds have the utmost respect for all members of law enforcement and the military and were troubled by the accusation made, Cook wrote in the statement. We look forward to working with Chief Hornaday as he continues his investigation.
Cooks statement did not speculate who may have written the message, which appeared on the cops beverage after a visit to the drive-thru early Saturday. An employee at the restaurant declined comment when reached on Monday, saying only that an internal investigation is ongoing.
At this time, we are not making any additional comment, the employee told The Post before hanging up.
Herington Police Chief Brian Hornaday, meanwhile, told the station that a review of the footage was inconclusive.
We deal with enough frustration in our daily duties every day, Hornaday told KSNT. To have something like this start off your work day while youre driving to the place where youre going to serve the citizens is just very frustrating.
Hornaday said in a since-deleted Facebook post that the unidentified officer received the insulting message while on his way to work early Saturday. The cop, who is also a veteran, was offered a free lunch after alerting workers there, Hornaday said.
No thank you, the post read. A Big Mac and large fries doesnt make up for it. The US Veteran who continues to serve deserves much more.

Not saying it is a hoax. It could be. The cop when offered a free meal says he deserves much more. So maybe he is a scammer.
Can we see a photo of the cop?
cops and veterans can lie... just like everyone else.
Yeah Im sure the cop wrote it just to cause trouble, this owner needs to get his head out of his ass!!!
Whenever I see the phrase “since deleted”, I get really skeptical really quick.
Owner or manager ??
In that world not 1 in the same.
Some own multi stores and never appear at any.
Mgr is protecting some POS He/She hired
My take
Sounds to me like a Thin Blue Hoax.
McD's said they wanted Brian Hornaday, police chief, to see their exonerating footage today. All that's happened so far is Hornaday deleting a Facebook post that tried to call BS on McD offering a free lunch. So he (police chief) is backpedaling.
His twitter profile was also deleted.
Junction City, Kansas? That’s also a military town, Ft. Riley. Not exactly a hotbed of anti-cop sentiment.
If cop wrote it, that letter “g” will be on most of his written incident reports. That is VERY unique.
I’d reserve judgment on this one. Could be legit, but it sounds a bit fishy.
What kind of pen does the cop carry?
That’s not everyday pen. Looks like a sharpie.
I have LEOs in the family, but something doesn’t smell right here.
The employees know:
- There are cameras
- The cop is sure to make a stink about this
Doesn’t add up.
Yes, they can!
And someone took the time to carefully dot both i s.
> Thats not everyday pen. Looks like a sharpie.
OMG!
Trump likes Sharpies!

Also, perpetrators of this type of thing usually try to sneak in the hit - e.g. machine-print it out in small letters that no one would read.
Don’t like to disbelieve a cop, but there are the bad apples.
i will have to check out his go fund me page for his therapy costs.
