What the hell are Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans waiting for?  Declare the House Democrats’ impeachment null and void NOW!  The House left for a long recess before sending the articles to the Senate.  Enough!  The speaker doesn’t run the country.— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) December 29, 2019

“Well for one thing they are waiting to get back in session, “Great One.””

Nice, my comment too! I guess Levin’s rating are still tanked so he needs to make some noise.

I agree, Barr and the senate judiciary committee can go after any of these people who Trump might call as witnesses to incriminate them. They have plenty of evidence. What the heck is Barr waiting for. NO TRIAL!

There is a standing Senate rule that says, “Impeachment trials can only start when the Articles of Impeachment have been presented in person to the Senate”.

To change the rules the following must happen.

(1) The Senate have to be in session, not just gavel it in, then gavel it out, like they are doing at this moment.

(2) To change rules, Senate Majority Leader needs 51 votes. There are several Senate members that could possible NOT vote to change the rules.

So, with only about 53 votes or so republican, the Turtle needs all, if not most of the Republicans to vote to change to rules. That prob will not happen.

So that is why we are at a standstill at this moment.

Caught Levine and Ken Starr the other night. Interesting discussion from both.

I agree... good discussion. Do you know who Levin's guest is tonight?

I don’t know who it could be. I too think that someone should sack up and say either present them or we will consider the matter closed and no further action will be discussed or taken.

“I’d say give the Dems a deadline...”

Would you also fire a warning shot at someone coming at you with guns blazing?

“Would you also fire a warning shot at someone coming at you with guns blazing?”

Maybe - if they had held hearings in Congress first and voted on impeaching me.
Very silly question comparing the apple of a legally prescribed congressional procress with the orange an illegal assault.
We have to deal with the realities on this, not our feelings and fantasies of how things are.

“Levin: What the hell are Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans waiting for?”

Well, Mark:

1. First, nothing can be done until the Senate reconvenes on Jan 3, 2020, so there’s been no actual “waiting” yet.

2. In the mean time, the US Senate has left Nancy twisting in the wind ...

3. No doubt, when the Senate has decided Nancy has twisted in the wind long enough and she continues to try to bend the Senate to her will, the Senate will proceed with a trial on their own volition, which is the Senate’s Constitutional prerogative.

So, Mark, in summary, it’s a bit premature to get your panties in a wad ...

“...comparing the apple of a legally prescribed congressional procress with the orange an illegal assault.”

You have got to be kidding.

There is nothing legal about this impeachment. Where have you been?

And they are not coming at Trump to enforce the rule of law, they are coming to destroy Trump and this nation.

“There is nothing legal about this impeachment.”

Call the cops and report it then.

Sorry, but again the real world intrudes on what it might be perceived to be. You can disapprove of how things are going, but your disapproval has no effect on either cause or effect.

The redeeming factor in all this is that it’s all a nothingburger in the real world. Trump won’t be voted out of office and the Dems are suffering (and will suffer more) the consequences of their action. The public is not behind them at all.

So, if you’re worried and upset, don’t be. There’s no reason to be.

Not looking to flame you, but the “courts” have ruled numerous times both the U.S. House of Representatives & the U.S. Senate make their own rules. Impeachment is 100 percent Political Process, not criminal or civil process.
