30 Years Later, 3 Lessons From The Fall Of Romanian Communism
The Federalist ^ | 12/23/2019 | Jayme Metzgar

When communism collapsed across Eastern Europe in 1989, the process was swift and surprisingly peaceful. Decades of terror and tyranny came to a sudden end with hardly a shot fired: governments stepped down, borders opened, walls fell. One country, however, proved to be the exception. Thirty years ago this week, citizens of Romania were being killed by the hundreds as they took to the streets to demand liberty from their brutal communist regime. Unrest that had begun December 16 in the southwestern city of Timişoara soon spread throughout Romania, fueled by the news that protesters were being gunned down by secret police.

Very interesting article about the horrors of one of the unreported failed communistic states.
A key take away from the article is that hard liners insisted that Romania was a socialist country and its failure was because it never achieved true communism.
That is the trick progressives use to seize more power and camouflage their totalitarian goals

My wife is Romanian, emigrated here in 69, she shouts at the TV more than me at what’s happening to this country by these scumbags

I have a friend who lives in Bucharest. He was impressed by my knowledge of Romanian history.
I have a daughter in the military and she is currently deployed to Romania.

People interested in the Ceaucescus's Romania MUST read Virginia Prodan's Saving My Assassin. And hang on for the great link to a famous American.

The Romanian form of Term Limits does seem to work.

There are many videos on YouTube showing the last days of the Ceausescus and it makes for fascinating watching, particularly Nicolae's last speech in which he literally loses the crowd. The look of shock and horror on his face as the subservient cheers get drowned out by jeers and shouting, as he is quickly ushered away by his flunkies, is really compelling.

That dude had way too many vowels in his name too.

Amazing the the tyranny fell there to give way to freedom, and freedom here is being eroded to make way for Socialist tyranny. I can only hope Pelosi and Schiff-face meet the same face. Or as Greta would say UP AGAINST THE WALL!

We might soon see Romanian Term Limits activated right here in the Virginian Commonwealth.
