A body found inside a northwest Harris County home is believed to be that of missing Austin mother Heidi Broussard, according to sources. An autopsy will likely be performed Friday.

At least one person is in custody.

A 1-month-old girl was found alive inside the same house on Bo Jack Drive near Jersey Village, where officers and agents from the Texas Rangers, Department of Public Safety, FBI and the Austin Police Department searched for hours overnight.

“Her friend”?

I had to read the article twice and look at the earlier reportage to reach the conclusion that the 1-month-old baby found in the house is Ms. Broussard’s child, who was 3 weeks old when they disappeared.

Thank God the baby is alive and I hope well.

If I’m reading this right, the boyfriend didn’t have anything to do with her abduction and murder. I’m relieved because I truly believed the pain in his eyes.

Per KVUE, there’s been an arrest.

Hard to say from what’s reported. The CBS piece said the car was registered to “one of her best friends,” or words to that effect, but no other details.

I hope good homes are found for the children.

If he’s able to provide a good home for his child or children, then that would be the best outcome.

You are not alone. Very confusing writing. I had to reread it a few times also.

"We don't need no stinkin' fathers."
Just watch TV for a day and you'll get the message.

That’s a point in his favor, providing-a-good-home-wise.

I read three articles. None of them mentioned a father of either of the children or a husband, significant-other, or other connection of the late Ms. Broussard.

The only other person mentioned in any article was Ms. Broussard’s mother.

Was the fiancé fooling around with this “friend” of the victim?

Or, was this “friend” jealous of the victim, enough to kidnap her and 1 mo old baby?

Very strange and sad.

I suspect one of two things: the friend wanted her baby and killed the Mom. OR the husband was having an affair and his girlfriend killed the wife. Why else would they leave the baby alive?

Friend’s car? Something is not right.

I find it very insulting when news articles refer to the suspect of a murder as being a friend.

As far as I can tell, the owner of the car self-identified as a “friend” at the time of Ms. Broussard’s disappearance.
