The people who tend to buy "ridiculously overpriced crap" are the people of a...shall we say...certain hue of skin tone...that for whatever reason tend to buy on impulse and believe on impulse, not on logic or reason. (Though I'm seeing a sea change in Alabama where they're getting more into loving God and loving their fellow man, so the days of the hate-white-America may be coming to an end.)
