It took 25 years, but Mariah Carey is finally the undisputed queen of Christmas and the charts.
On Tuesday, her 1994 hit All I Want for Christmas Is You hit No. 1 on Billboards Hot 100 chart for the first time. It marks a songs longest-ever trip to the top of the vaunted singles chart.
For Carey, 49, it marks the height of a banner month. On Sunday, Carey concluded her sixth annual All I Want for Christmas Is You tour at Madison Square Garden with a 90-minute set to a sold-out crowd. Agreed.
Just kill me now.
Oddly, Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull annoyed me for the same reason.
The main reason why I avoid listening to the radio like the plague this time of year.
Thats certainly on my list of (never played and never will from the title alone) songs.
And then there’s “Police Nabbed Me Dad”.
How about the other six Christmas songs they play over and over?
Save The World
Here Come Santa Claus Springsteins
Last Christmas (homosexual xmas song about a guy and his x boy friend)
Santa Baby (The Madonna version of course.)
War is OVer -Lenon and the other 2 or 3 versions.
I heard Nat King Cole’s “Christmas Song” on Radio Latino the other day. That is Christmas music that everybody likes.
Is she Jim Careys Mom?
Why sing one note, when you can sing ten?
“all I want for Christmas is your wallet”
I absolutely love this song. And Im not a fan of Mariah Carey. But I love it and I love to sing it in the car.
More like “All I Want For Christmas is a Tub of Haagen-Dazs”
It’s probably because of all the mash-ups (combining two songs) on YouTube, people are searching for the original. Some of the mash-ups are quite entertaining.
Yep, all those are pretty bad.
I pretty much listen to Polish carols, these days.
If you’re going up against the wall I’ll stand beside you.
I just saw a poll where this song was voted “least favorite” Christmas song.
