However, the states are left to govern the mechanics of their own elections by the constitution. I don’t think the judge will fair too badly.

You know this will hurt the Dems, not the Pubs.

95% of the fake vote probably goes to the Dems.

If they moved they just vote in their new precinct/county/state whatever. If they moved from place A to place B, they don’t get to vote for stuff/candidates on the A ballot, they vote on whatever/whomever is on their new ballot.
If it’s just a matter of a new residence within the same voting area, just change the address info.
Not rocket science, Dems.

But if they don’t respond after a certain amount of time then they should be removed from the voter rolls.. They could have moved out of the state and are voting in two or more states..

The left always seems to present theoretical “evidence” that something might happen by such policy changes, but they can never manage to produce any actual people who were prevented from voting because of a policy change.

This happened in Kansas’ voter ID hearings, when a Republican defender of the law challenged the opposing Democrats to produce people who were unfairly targeted. No one could be found.

“President Trump won Wisconsin by fewer than 23,000 votes in 2016. Republicans and Democrats alike are closely watching this court case for its potential impact in 2020, while liberals worry that the voters who would be removed are more likely to be Democrats.”

Well then Democrats can simply ADD THEM BACK...if they’re real voters. Why the lawsuit and why the big deal?

“a decision that could impede residents of this swing state from voting in next year’s presidential election”

Or...it could just as easily prevent someone from voting fraudulently...

It seems the left can only win with the stupid, infirm ,dead and /or stolen vote.

I firmly believe some of our founding fathers had it right when they only wanted land owners to have a vote in elections.

That’s right. If they want to vote in Wisconsin, they can reregister at the polling place on election day.

Marisa Lati

Rest assured sweetie, you will be among the first to visit the re-education day spas (REDS). Propaganda for the great revolution. And that revolution always and I mean always devours its children first, comrade.

You have to renew your drivers license, you gun registration, your car tags. Voter registration should need to be renewed every eight years. It’s to protect your vote!

WAPOO’s Marisa Lati following directions by her boss has begun with an attack on judges who support badly needed voting reform which begin with not directing the attack by naming him personally. But watch for this.

Such judges will be personally attacked with follow by several subsequent propaganda pieces attacking those judges directly who support this.

Ordering it and it actually being done are two different things.

I live in Wisconsin and his story is a joke. I just sent this email to Marisa from the WaPost who wrote the story.

Marisa,

You left out an integral component in your story. Wisconsin has same day registration, so regardless of who you are, all you have to do is show up at the poll on Election Day with an ID that demonstrates you live in that district and register to vote.

The reason for the law’s creation was that tens of thousands of these addresses actually don’t exist. If that’s the case then how did anyone ever register to vote in the first place? Who did they vote for when they voted? Purge a non existent address and who’s harmed? Now let’s add that many of these were also students who used to attend UW Madison, but no longer do, so the post card went unanswered. Those graduates can register wherever they live on Election Day with their ID.

If you’re going to report a story with the suggestion that some 234,000 people are harmed, please get it straight. If they are purged from the voter rolls, they simply register at the polls. Report the whole story and don’t leave out key components. You are why people do not trust the news.

This is a non issue...

If you are not in the rolls and you show up at a polling place here is what happens.. at least in my state:

The judge of elections will call the county to have them verify who you claim to be and that you are at the right polling location.

If the county can not find you on the rolls, ( my experience has been most that this happens to the county finds them and they are at the wrong location and the judge passes it along to the voter letting them know where their polling place is) then the voter is given a provisional ballot which will be filled out by said voter and the board of elections will then determine after the fact the authenticity of the voter and whether that vote should be counted or not.

While it can be a minor annoyance to everyone involved no legitimate voter gets turned away at the polling place. He’ll even if you flat out lie and argue you will likely end up being given a provisional ballot. Later if you are lying the ballot will wind up not being counted.

Thes left wing claims that people are getting disenfranchised by voting roll purges is garbage

Other states may differ but I assume they have a similar set up

We need to bring voting registration into the 21st Century.

We need to use the technology already available and being used.

Example: When I renewed my Drivers License I had to provide a thumb print. The clerk used a small digital reader that took a “picture” of my fingerprint. It is on file at the DMV.

How about when you register to vote you have to provide a thumb print.

Now, forget about where a person lives. Set up the community polling station, you could go to any polling location but before you get your ballot you are identified by your thumb print and a ballot is issue.

Here is the key point - once you get your ballot your record is flagged and you will not get another one.

This could be set up nationally for Presidential election.

(Note for those rare cases someone does not have a thumb another form of ID can be set up)

Wisconsin is far simpler. All you need is a photo ID. No calling anywhere, no nothing. You show a valid photo ID and you are allowed to register. No provisional ballot. If you don’t have an ID, then you can still get a provisional ballot which will be counted if you provide proof after the fact.
