ATLANTA -- A shooting that wounded one person in a mall food court sent suburban Atlanta shoppers fleeing in panic Saturday.
The Cobb County Police Department says the person was wounded at Cumberland Mall after 1 p.m., and that the shooting suspect then ran away. The victim was taken to a hospital, but police didn't identify the person or describe the extent of the victim's injuries.
Police said they have identified a suspect and are looking for him.
Three witnesses told The Associated Press they saw a man bleeding on the floor of the mall's food court after shots were heard. None of the witnesses would identify themselves.
Videos posted online showed people with shopping bags running in all directions from the food court, with some hiding under counters and tables. Shoppers reported that store employees in some cases told them to hide in stockrooms.

In a previous crime thread I saw a 13/90 figure shown. Going to Urban Dictionary I found that it represents “an exaggeration used to make a point about the disproportionate rate at which blacks commit violent crime.” OK, but then Urban Dictionary undermines its own case by admitting that young black males, who represent only 3% of the population are responsible for over 57% of violent crime.
If 3% of the population is committing more than half of the violent crime in this country, it means that the odds are against whitey acting up.

What, exactly, are people expecting when they go to a ‘suburban mall’? It’s not like we live in Japan, where they IMMEDIATELY deal with people who might cause trouble.
People are expecting to be safe when they go shopping at a mall or any other place of business. It is sad some people think it is ok to harm others whether by gun, knife, or beat downs.
Yet another reason to shop at Amazon.
I haven’t heard that internet shopping is racist, but I know the claim is coming sooner or later.

While that certainly WAS the case here, several decades of judicial rulings have declared that people looking to cause trouble have a RIGHT to be in our shopping malls.
So people go at their own risk, at least regarding malls in the US. Obviously in other countries it’s totally different as they don’t have Democrat judges to deal with, nor conservatives who enable those judges to assume power by sitting out elections, out of ‘principle’ because so-and-so Republican is a RINO.
