Thomas Callaway, a 43-year-old youth minister (Pittman Park United Methodist Church) from Statesboro, GA was charged Friday with sexual battery, a misdemeanor, in Chatham County, records show. “The conduct displayed toward Alex Bozarjian during her live coverage of Saturday’s Savannah Bridge Run was reprehensible and completely unacceptable,” the Savannah television station the employs Bozarjian said after the arrest.
Bozarjian told police the man had slapped and then grabbed her buttocks, the Associated Press reported.

She complains that she was “objectified”. Who talks like that? That sounds like she’s been reading too much feminist literature.
Humans interact. And not always in nice ways. She’d have been justified in slapping him back (even though he was only being playful).
But a criminal case? Aren’t our courts already overcrowded, do they have time for this kind of virtue-signalling?
And her life isn’t destroyed; there are people who suffer in far worse ways, all over the world, and her case is not even worth a mention.

If someone did that to me, I'd settle for him paying a $500 fine or something like that. I wouldn't want to ruin his life, but I'd want to make it clear: women don't have to submit to strange men hitting them.

One day I was in my union office collating union newsletters. The VP, a big fat ugly guy, and I were putting it all together.
Suddenly, as I was standing over the table and collating, suddenly he grabs my butt and gives it a good fondle.
I jumped about a mile, shouted to cut it out....which he did. He did. I was mad as hell.

What goes through, say,that movie guy's mind, he look somewhat like the VP of my union.
It's probably a bit much to arrest the guy for it but I say keeps your hands off my body unless I say do it.

I am not defending him, nor is anyone on this thread. I just found it curious that the reporter could not resist embellishing her story when it is right there on camera. She said he "slapped her and then he grabbed her". There is no "and then". He does not break his stride. He slaps her and keeps running. I guess reporters cannot resist injecting fake news into everything.
I agree with you. This incident can be a teachable moment for all of us, especially men who don’t think about boundaries with women. I certainly hope that this man is not going to be designated as a sex offender and have his life ruined over this.
He just needs to claim he thought it was a guy, and the law won’t know what to do with him.
