A Madison Metropolitan School District spokesperson says the students were staying at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis for a conference.

The district is working with Minneapolis police during an investigation.

The staffer who was with the students on the trip has been placed on administrative leave, as per district policy, as a precaution during the active investigation, the spokesperson says.

Hyatt Regency Minneapolis general manager Mark Bastis said to KARE11 that the hotel immediately contacted local authorities when they learned about the situation and "conducted a thorough property-wide search for unauthorized recording devices; no additional devices have been found."

Kind of points to the school staffer as being the spurce rather than hotel folks, unless hotel staff knew ahead of time which rooms were the kids and put them there.

Interesting to see who is the culprit here.

Wonder if it could have been the local police department, just making sure no money was changing hands for sexual favors.

When I went to high school, we didn’t travel the country to go to ‘conferences’, like these brats.

Isn’t it also funny that we don’t hear the teachers bitch about these junkets when they complain that they don’t have enough money for supplies.

Yup; from the original source; https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/electronic-devices-reported-in-some-minneapolis-hyatt-regency-rooms/89-f3b2d25d-f00c-4685-853d-d79479c4f547

school's letter to parents

The letter indicated a staff member had been placed on leave “as a precautionary measure,” but did not reveal the reason behind the leave.

Statement from Hotel

it does not appear that anyone associated with the hotel was involved in the situation. The hotel continues to fully cooperate with Minneapolis Police Department on their investigation, and further questions may be directed to MPD.

staffer is a perv
