Obsessed Star Wars fans with sleeping bags and a portable movie projector have started camping outside Hollywood's Chinese Theatre, more than a week before the blockbuster begins playing.
Roughly 20 sci-fi lovers were in place Thursday, seven days before doors swing open for the first preview screening of the much-hyped, saga-concluding "The Rise of Skywalker."
Organizers expect that number to swell to 150 in the coming days, with fans of all ages traveling from as far as the United Kingdom and Japan to see the movie first at the iconic venue where the original "Star Wars" premiered in 1977.

Camping out for a movie, concert, or shopping never made sense to me.
I will never forgive Disney for destroying the Star Wars franchise. Never. What the heck was the last movie? Crappy storyline that made no sense and more concern with social justice than actually making a good movie. The only thing that was decent out of all of the recent movies was Rogue One
Why when you can buy reserved seat tickets online? I’ve had my tickets for at least a month. We’re going to see it on the 19th.
Wow. Considering how bad the last 5 Star Wars were (of the proposed Lucas 9) I find the waiting on line ridiculous.
We are not homeless...we are...camping...
Any of them employed?
LOL!
Same old plot, too. Great the first 3 or 4 times, but it has lost its excitement. The excitement factor is not high enough to justify $12 per ticket.
Lucass 1,2,3 were not good either. Seems he got old and weak.
4,5,6 were the only good ones IMHO. Rogue One was good. I didnt hate Solo either (but bad choice of lead actor....casting couch pick instead of a man)
And crapping in the streets......................
Who are these people?
Camping out for few weeks on the sidewalk to see a movie should be considered a mental illness.
The only Star Wars that exists in my Universe have Yoda as a Muppet. All others are pale imposters.
How did they ever get mommy’s permission to leave the basement?
I can’t imagine camping out for such mediocrity.
I loved Star Wars as a kid but they have completely lost me.
They have NO LIFE
I thought I didn’t have one either but events like this show I must.
