Mike Pompeo and singer-songwriter Linda Ronstadt clashed over the Secretary of State's boss during the Kennedy Center Honors State Department dinner Saturday evening.
Pompeo hosted the dinner the night before the Kennedy Center Honors gala at the State Department, which is where the honorees received their awards.
When delivering remarks to the audience at the dinner, Pompeo congratulated Ronstadt, a headliner honoree, and joked about her 1974 hit 'When Will I Be Loved,' asking when he would be loved.
In response, the 73-year-old singer told Pompeo, 'Maybe when you stop enabling Donald Trump.'

Hated her singing voice back in the 70’s.
Oh, yes. Fortunately for me, I pretty much live in the past. The Gipper is still president, and the Stone Ponys have just released another album.
Yeah, neither do I.
Roll the beached whale back into the ocean to save her porcine life.
She’s able to retire comfortably from the tons of money she made from capitalism but apparently people working today are not allowed that right. According to her we must have a communist in the WH and be unemployed. “Enabling Trump” is enabling a great economy and record low uneployment and thats a no no to millionaires like her.
Linda Ronstadt has been in relationships with Aaron Neville (1989 - 1992), George Lucas (1984), Jim Carrey (1983), Jerry Brown (1979), Mick Jagger (1977 - 1978), Albert Brooks (1974 - 1976), Steve Martin (1972), JD Souther (1972 - 1974), John Boylan (record producer) (1971) and Bill Murray. There are many more...
Same here. I’m stuck in the 70’s.
Linda Ronstadt is a long time liberal hater. She’s full to the brim with hate.
Then I suppose drugs and liberal governors took their tool. I shouldn’t judge too quickly. It can happen to anyone... :)
she certainly is a gracious guest
Her beauty was skin deep - but her ugly goes straight to the bone.
Never trusted Linda’s selection criteria for men.
She’s not aging all that well.
Anthony Hopkins on Why He Doesn’t Talk About Politics:
‘Actors Are Pretty Stupid’
In a conversation with fellow actor Brad Pitt for a lengthy chat for Interview magazine, Anthony Hopkins explained why he seldom — actually: never — talks about politics... and why he’s not a big fan of other actors talking about politics either. In short: “Actors are pretty stupid.”
“People ask me questions about present situations in life, and I say, I dont know, Im just an actor,’” Hopkins told Pitt. “ I dont have any opinions. Actors are pretty stupid. My opinion is not worth anything. Theres no controversy for me, so dont engage me in it, because Im not going to participate.”

There seems to have been an actual decline in rational thinking. The United States had become a place where entertainers like Linda Ronstadt and professional athletes were mistaken for people of importance.
They were idolized and treated as leaders; their opinions were sought on everything and they took themselves just as seriously after all, if an athlete is paid a million or more a year, he knows he is important so his opinions of foreign affairs and domestic policies must be important, too, even though he proves himself to be both ignorant and subliterate every time he opens his mouth. (Most of his fans were just as ignorant and unlettered; the disease was spreading.)

Toll I mean. What is spell check without grammar check? A disaster waiting to happen.
She’s had more drivers than a NYC taxicab...................
Amazing vocal range and voice. Dumb as a post.
Now, she's just a Huge Manatee...
Squat, fat Mexican female dog should go back to her mother’s homeland and complain about all her wealth and comforts she had to endure.
Its a Homo fest, and the State Department is a sure bet to fill seats.
And just like that, all her music and opinions on anything suck and couldnt matter less to me.
