She actually used correct subject-verb agreement. The BBC’s headline writer made it wrong.
Wow, every year it’s now a person of color who is not even close to as beautiful as 90 percent of the contestants. This is tiresome.
I thought these beauty-pageant things died back about 1960 when was probably the last I, being fifteen years old at the time, paid any attention to them.

It’s commonly done, especially when the subject is a mixed-sex group. However, in this case, the lady had “they” (girls) as the subject, so “their” is the correct pronoun.
In the midst of her country’s ongoing white genocide, was there any doubt that Miss South Africa would be crowned “Miss Universe” by its PC-infected judges? I am so sick of this s*it.
