Today’s Cryptogram

Posted on 12/08/2019 2:34:17 AM PST by nikos1121

Today’s Cryptogram

A quick and easy one today from The Arkansas Gazette. EVERYONE SHOULD SOLVE THIS under four minutes. Under two is excellent. Under 1:30 you get a Cuban cigar.

WGNZK BX GKEXS GUGZS PJKYBG XV SXYZ WJVG. MG INLLS KXC. —GNZW KJQIBJKQNWG

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat

If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

Yes, and it was not hard to find. After that is was easy, but the structure was not easy. I like the sentiment, but the first thing that came to mind was Colonel Saito.

That took a while. I kept hacking away at that fourth word. But between that and a lucky guess (finally) on the first name, I got it!

Hit on the middle word of the second sentence, and took a shot at the other two words.
