The Church of England has become embroiled in a row over whether it should publicly oppose Labour and Liberal Democrat plans to liberalize abortion laws.
More than 400 members of the clergy wrote an open letter to senior figures complaining that the political shift would see fetuses classed as no longer human beings worthy of legal protection.
The letter criticized bishops for not standing up for the churchs official teaching on abortion that terminating pregnancies in most cases is wrong as the unborn child has the potential to develop relationships, think, pray, choose and love.
It said members had sincere concerns about the proposals and called for them to speak out in defense of some of the most vulnerable in our society. [ ]
Labour and the Liberal Democrats have both pledged to relax existing abortion legislation if they win the General Election on December 12.
Under the 1967 Abortion Act, women can legally seek a termination up to 24 weeks of pregnancy and must have the approval of two doctors. It is a criminal offense for a woman to breach these conditions in England and Wales.

The Church of England died in this decade.
The surviving handfuls of 80+ year old members in each parish will be gone soon.
Gays and libtards are the regular CoE members.
I am sick of term fetus. Its nothing but a way for people to ignore what we are actually taking about here. The word is a gift from the father of lies.
The word itself is a Latin term for a born baby. The corruption of the term by the left is what is abominable, although certainly not unexpected. (My pet peeve is the falsely-derived spelling “foetus”.)
Well yes you are correct. Actually It is the corruption of the word that we should take issue with. But the reality the word is used by the baby killers to hide behind. The perversion of language is another tool the father of lies uses.
There is only one real issue. Life !
The sacredness and protection of innocents !
