The oceans are losing oxygen due to climate change, with dire consequences for marine life and vulnerable communities and fisheries, a nature conservation report revealed Saturday.
This is the ultimate wake-up call for humanity on ever increasing carbon emissions, according to the report, published at the UN Climate Change conference in Madrid.
The authors say the report, Ocean deoxygenation: Everyones problem, is the largest ever peer-reviewed study into the causes, impacts and possible solutions to the oceans oxygen loss. [ ]
According to the report, areas of water with low oxygen concentrations are expanding, with roughly 700 ocean areas across the globe now affected by low oxygen conditions up from only 45 in the 1960s. Over the past five decades, the areas completely depleted of oxygen have quadrupled.

This is so important I think much more study is called for.
On their dime.
Wow. The worlds oceans consist of billions and billions of gallons of water. Im impressed that the Climate Change folks can measure such a large thing so accurately.
By the way, what is their measurement of uncertainty (the plus or minus)? The Climate Change folks never seem to talk about that.
The less the long promised predicted disasters dont happen, the worse it gets! Hmmm???

Posted earlier on FR, but bears repeating IMHO:
The conclusion must be that man-made climate change and the need to eliminate carbon emissions to avoid climate change simply do not exist.

IBTGP (in before the Goebbels photo)
Red and brown algae tides are causing part of the problem, according to these people, in a 2005 article, which needs serious updating:

There’s that word again: “peer-reviewed.”
The belief that nature is delicate is not borne out by vigorous nature studies. Nature is not at all delicate. It is vigorous and belligerent. It adapts to ever changing environmental forces. Coral banks may be wiped out by a sudden change in current. It will just as quickly reestablish when the environment shifts again. The foolish notion that an ecosphere must remain absolutely stable and unchanging is magic thinking, not real nature.
So what’s going to happen to Obama’s new ocean-front mansion first? Thousands of dead sea animals floating ashore, or complete inundation from the rising ocean (within ten or twelve years according to Bernie and AOC)?
Stop asking so many questions!!
Oxygen measurements at the very low concentrations (< 5 µmol O2 per kg) found in some parts of LOZs (low oxygen zones) are technically challenging and the historical data at very low oxygen concentrations have been often suspect (Bianchi et al., 2012). Consequently, estimation of the extent and evolution of OMZs (oxygen minimum zones) with particularly low oxygen concentrations at their core (e.g. AMZs [anoxic marine zones]) are still uncertain.Thats from page 19 of the actual report, so already they are equivocating.
just a variation of sexual emergency by the muslims.
these fake urgencies are what make bad policy.
has the UN gang of muslims ever gotten anything right? You have to ask why is it that islam is centuries behind the west..... and now they have emergencies?
Yep, in their eyes, “ it’s imperative that we bring down the west, now!!!”
Oh please. Why post this nonsense.
No Problem
No money
So, problem no matter what.
“Climate Emergency” is the new Climate Change.
There are two other terms not on that list that you will be hearing more of : ‘Climate Collapse’ and ‘Climate Bomb’
Basic oceanography/ marine ecology.
We do have to know how the enemy is changing their tactics. “Climate change” wasn’t working for them, so now it’s “climate emergency”. Perhaps next year it’ll be “climate catastrophe” or “climate armageddon” or something more dire-sounding.
