Wow, all this sounds very petty. I wonder what the real story is...
What?
Delta has 80 year old Flight Attendants?
It’s comical to see the ancient FA’s on the big legacy carriers.
Had one on a transatlantic flight who literally had the shakes and almost could not make it down the aisle. She told me she had just come back after a 2 year medical leave, and she was at least 65. All I could think of was, why bother coming back?!
But with them it’s like, what, leave show business?!
Feel bad asking for a drink....don’t want them to miss their naps!
You spend your entire life learning how to play the system.
When it plays you, BECAUSE YOU STEAL FROM YOUR COMPANY,
you bitch and moan.
At eighty years old and 250K / yr.
Well I wish I were that “smart.”
Maybe she cant do her job and Union protects her?
Ive seen many stewardesses that cant the job just hanging on.
Saw a short stewardess that couldnt open the over-head bins, saw another that was so fat she had to walk sideways down the aisle because she couldnt fit walking straight.
Mid-East airlines, like Emerites have beautiful and nice and competent stewardesses. Singapore Airlines also.
No union protecting them when they age out or get too fat, or get too mean.
Read the exceprt. Grandma here correctly spells it out...
It’s because they have to pay us so much because we’ve been there forever and your pay scale goes up each year. I think they can hire four newer flight attendants for what they pay me.”
They would have been smarter to offer he a golden parachute for retirement, now she and her lawyers will have their own Delta Jets before this is over.
offer her a golden parachute
They are the trainees. The others are older.
Yep. Making a Quarter Mil per annum
My goodness why didnt she just retire???
If they want you gone, they’ll find a way.
250k a year for her, or 40k-50k or less for someone new?
I don’t think you really need to figure out much more of the story.....
Bingo!
Coffee, tea or me?
Well no one really knows what the real story is, but...
I imagine it has something to do with a union job that rewards people based solely on seniority, therefore incentivizing her less-well-compensated colleagues to rat her out at the first opportunity.
I also imagine she was really good and dedicated to her job, but $250K to serve peanuts and martinis is a little ridiculous, especially when you’re 79.
No wonder airline tickets are so expensive. If the flight attendants make a quarter million, what do the pilots make?
I wonder if her teeth are likes stars and come out at night.
