I didn't know there was such a bad winter in 1977. All I remember about 1977 was going to see Star Wars.

Actually there is a greater chance of another Ice Age than there is of catastrophic warming.
Cold kills, humans have thrived during previous warming periods that were warmer than today.
We are a tropical species.

Based on correlation with sun spot activity you may be right.

the left called everyone who doubted that an impending ice age was about to hit “Anti-Science”, and i believe said the ‘science was settled’
Hmmm, guess it wasn’t so settled and I guess the people who doubted weren’t anti-Science after all- the left owes people who doubt that man is causing climate change an apology

mankind was created in a tropic-like climate (minus the rain)- and now man is complaining that we are going back to a tropic-like climate?
Many Liberals, they are NEVER EVER happy about anything-

The 1970s Global Cooling Compilation looks much like today A compilation of news articles on the global cooling scare of the 1970s
Does the bullet point list for solutions to global cooling at right look familiar? It reads almost like some of the manifestos we get from warmists today, including the suspension of Democracy as the article in the Owosso Newspaper clearly demonstrates. Thanks to Poptech for the compilation.
During the 1970s the media promoted global cooling alarmism with dire threats of a new ice age. Extreme weather events were hyped as signs of the coming apocalypse and man-made pollution was blamed as the cause.
Environmental extremists called for everything from outlawing the internal combustion engine to communist style population controls. This media hype was found in newspapers, magazines, books and on television;

Funny that those exact same cures are demanded to fight against global warming.
I expect they would be there to prevent global mildness with temperatures that are just too pleasant.

Ice age, it seemed very believable at the time. Imminent as a matter of fact after 3 winters like those in a row.
To: KarlInOhio
Global mildness!? You’re scaring the schiff out of me with kind of talk.

Thanks for posting this. Just tonight for laughs I showed the video of Greta Thunberg at the UN to my 14 year old daughter and said to her "Don't you think she'd be a lot of fun at a party?" She was like "why does she look like an angry mom and what is she so mad about?" I told her she was mad about global warming. Sensing a teachable moment, I then said not to worry because when I was a kid they told us we had only a couple of decades until we all died when the earth froze and now they say we'll burn up so in another ten years we'll probably be building arks because scientists come up with some new doomsday theory.
Then a couple hours later you posted this. Perfect.

Wait! What if we set off H-bombs at the right place to change the axis of the Earth’s spin to bring on Global Warming and save the planet! Plus we can grow more crops!

Funny coincidence and funny story.
I have a 14 year old daughter, too.
She loved Trump before I did. :)
Gotta raise them right.

‘77 was my first year in construction as a carpenter. I froze my butt off at times that winter but I don’t recall thinking it was anything other than “another Colorado winter” except that I had to work in it instead of play in it.

In Search Of was a good show.
Check out YouTube for all kinds of
videos of Unsolved Mysteries with Robert Stack. Loved that show, too.

They could do In Search Of... “Star Trek III: The Search for Spock” on Betamax. Or laser disc.
THAT would be interesting.
