Thanks. Was needing a recipe to use fire roasted tomatoes. Our grocery store has flavored cans of tomatoes but they rarely have just plain tomatoes so I have a ton of the flavored kind.
In this case I was out of smoked hot paprika so I thought the tomatoes and some hot paprika would do.
Not so fond of it in a Bolognese sauce or vegetable soup but it is quite good most other beef dishes.
Any idea of how you make “fired roasted tomatoes”?
I’ve been going to the same local vegie stand for the past 20 years. The owner saves me the weekly bruised tomatoes for pick up of Fridays. One day I got 4 cases of tomatoes! Will never use canned tomatoes again.
But how do you fire roast them??? Does it matter?
