I dont want a lot for Christmas but for some, the one thing they do want is to hear the song again!
A poll across the UK has found that the most annoying Christmas song out there isnt Jingle Bells or Dominick the Donkey or even Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer but rather Mariah Careys All I Want For Christmas Is You," Variety reported.
Huawei, a mobile phone company, conducted the survey.
The Carey Christmas Classic may be the number one most annoying, but some other songs you hear on constant rotation on the radio also made the list, Variety reported.
1. All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey
2. Do They Know Its Christmas? by Band-Aid
3. I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday, by Wizzard
4. Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade
5. Last Christmas by Wham!
Hope people do not mention Doug and Bob McKenzie’s 12 Days of Christmas, lol.
Christmas Rapping by The Waitresses
Jingle Bell Rock! That one gets in my head and i cant get it out. I hate it!!
Mariah’s song is okay. The one I dislike is Bruce Springsteen rasping his way through Santa Claus is Coming To Town.

That one makes me take out the flamethrower.
Little Drummer Boy is my all time gag me song; although I love Johnny Cash.
A palate cleanser...this one’s good. The Godfather of Soul from 1966 (Let’s Make This Christmas Mean Something This Year)

Waitin’ up for Sanny Claw....oh God thanks for all the wonderful things...
My wife would sometimes be too indulgent of my children when they were very young. One such time was when they insisted on repeat play of the Chipmunk’s “The Christmas Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late) on repeat ... in August, with the windows down (AC wasn’t working). She was embarrassed at the lights.
Still, her worst song is John Lennon’s “Happy Christmas (War Is Over)”, followed by previously mentioned McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmas Time”.
My worst two are “The Little Drummer Boy” (I picture it used with bamboo shoots under the finger nails), and Elton John’s “Ho Ho Ho (Who’d Want to Be a Turkey at Christmas?)” which is the flipside of the utterly pedestrian “Step Into Christmas”.
“Last Christmas” is gayer than Liberace and Paul Lynde having a sleepover on Oscar night.
I still don’t know what a Parson Brown is but I do know it’s my grandson’s fave right now probably because it’s one they’ve been practicing for the program. I like it alright. It’s fun to sing with the kids. That and the Twelve days of Christmas lol.
is a classic, eh?
I’m glad that song is enjoyable for some but for me it’s one of the most annoying tunes there is. :) I like the traditional ones by like Bing Cosby etc.
Have you heard the sendup to Mariah Cary’s Xmas tune, “All I want for Christmas is Jews”, by Melissa McQueen?
It’s harmless; Jewish folks find it funny. It even depicts Mariah’s “cougar license”. Worth a listen, IMO.
All I want for Christmas and Last Christmas.
My two favorites. However you need to be in love and with your honey to really appreciate the lyrics. IMO and experience!
Thanks.
I try to stick to Big Band Christmas and Sacred Music (Organ, Choir, Orchestra and such)
However, you can download radio Broadcasts from 1939-1945 and pull the December broadcasts to burn to a drive to play in your car or home
Thanks for the reminder -
You Hoser!
Man, I hate that song. Also, they are really, really starting to overplay, "Baby It's Cold Outside".
