Seriously? Evergreen State is NOT on this list?
Ignore this this list, then.
How did Evergreen State College, Olympia
WA not make the list?
Surprised to see RPI on this list. I worked with several very good engineers who were alums.
Some HBCU’s on this list. Therefore this list is racist.
RE: Surprised to see RPI on this list. I worked with several very good engineers who were alums.
It is a very good STEM school. However, if you look at the reasons given by this article, it describes the school as a totalitarian, China-like environment. You are only allowed to say things the authorities allow you to OR ELSE...
Better stick to your technical/mathematical/engineering work and shut up.
Its clearly on this list because RPI wants order on their campus. Its very tough & very good engineering school and with that policy its clear they want serious students. If you have time to be an “activist” you don’t have time to be a RPI engineering student! Go elsewhere if you feel you have to “save-the-world” as a 20-something!
Berkeley.
Univ. of TX.
Every Ivy.
I notice that most of the schools have a graduation debt of between 20 and 30 thousand. Assuming full time students are taking out loans that’s about 7500 per year or 3750 per semester. Harvard’s cost per credit hour is 1406. so you can take 2.7 hrs per semester at Harvard. Also most of these are minority, private, or religious based schools. People who get divinity degrees or teaching degrees don’t expect to make 200,000 per year like a Harvard grad with a degree in white entitlement studies, climate change theory or socialism propaganda.
Also noticeably absent was Oberlin.
Strong showing for the Carolinas.
I went to Ga. Tech (Engineering school) in the ‘70s
The closest to “Political Speech” I saw was the Streaking Craze. Too Busy trying to learn Thermodynamics, Transport Theory, and Partial Differential Equations
Maybe it’s different now, but Engineering Schools absolutely should put a premium on Rigorous Logic
So they need to work that and those who are taking night classes for the fun of learning something new into the equation.
I thought it was a FBS football ranking, so I was surprised UConn and UMass wasn’t on the list...then I saw it was the worst University in terms of life.
Are the best statisticians I ever work with was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Eastern New York.
Granted he probably graduated 30 years ago, but he was one on the ball hot shot.
You beat me to it. This list is overweighted with colleges with majority or near-majority black student bodies. Cue the “that’s racist” kid.
No, the worst would be Cumberland College, Lebanon, TN
Maxine Waters, graduate of #13.
This college made it to the list of the worst colleges in America because of their poorly written policies which have been used by the administration to quell free speech. When controversies come to light, the administration has gone so far as to claim eminent domain to prevent students from passing out buttons or flyers on campus sidewalks. You cant even hand out a flier on the property without gaining prior authorization. The claim of eminent domain is invalid as it deals with the governments ability to claim property, and its embarrassing that they would use the claim when it has nothing to do with the banned activities. They have also punished students who talk to the media about their backward policies. This is a college to stay away from until they get their act together.
My alma-mater.
All of this came about when ultra-leftist Shirley Ann Jackson became President. (I think one of her first actions was to bring the Commodities Scam Queen in as a commencement speaker.) Few white males are ever featured in the alumni magazine anymore. It's just so disgusting!
The people who call for money must have a SAJ code because I don't hear from them anymore. Formerly, when they called I would tell them, "I'm not giving any money and I think you know the reason why." They always did.
