Trump jokes at a rally, teasing Russia to send Hillary’s email to the American media. This joke has morphed into an article of impeachment. Yesterday, this academic egghead jokes about Trump’s young son being royalty. Both jokes are now in the official record for Trump’s impeachment. Yup! Jokes are in the record. So many people on the right are up in arms about this as an attack on Barron Trump.
IMO it is not. It’s not even an attack on POTUS or FLOTUS for the name they gave to their son. It’s Karlan’s attempt to imply that Trump thinks he is a monarch.
I completely disagree with Karlan, but I have no problem with the statement itself. (Other than it seems like it was a well-rehearsed but very lame line.)
When the conservatives go nuts and say she was attacking Barron, I think it makes us look foolish.
I do not like Karlan at all. I think she’s full of crap. But I think we should not behave like the libs and throw logic out the window in order to attack someone we don’t like. There are plenty of legitimate things we can criticize her for.
It makes me wonder if this is a test to see how many of us can think for ourselves vs. how many of us will jump on the bandwagon as long as it’s OUR bandwagon. (Q, is that you checking on us? How many of us are thinking for ourselves? Enough to move forward with the plan? ;-) )
I agree with your assessment. What is DJT waiting for? He can wipe out the DS and the entire Dem party yet waits and waits. One of these times they will get him. Maybe not legally but it will be effective. How would they impeach him if Pelosi, Schiff, Warner, etc... were in prison?

I take issue with the academic’s comment. What the hell was Karlan doing inserting a defenseless kid into the public conversation while on the witness stand during an impeachment hearing? And it’s so obvious reading between the lines what she was doing. If so innocent why apologize?
Not at all upset or challenging you in the least. My anger is with the hypocrisy on the left and their hate. In other words hatred is fine with the left as long as one hates and disparages the right people. But to engage in your leftist norms and to do so in a formal hearing on a witness stand (a hearing btw that will greatly impact the country) is completely sick and a mockery of the child and the hearing.
Speaking of royalty. Wasn't it a young obama who wrote on a sidewalk "king obama"?
