Four police officers were among nearly two dozen people killed after security forces engaged in an hour-long gunbattle with suspected cartel members Saturday in a Mexican town near the U.S. border, days after President Trump said he was moving to designate Mexican drug cartels as terror organizations.
The shootout happened around noon in the small town of Villa Union, a town in Coahuila state located about an hour’s drive southwest of Eagle Pass, Texas.
Coahuila state Gov. Miguel Angel Riquelme told local media that four of the dead were police officers killed in the initial confrontation and that several municipal workers were missing. On Sunday, the Coahuila state government said that security forces killed seven additional members of the gang, bringing the death toll to at least 21.
The armed group of suspected cartel members stormed the town of 3,000 residents in a convoy of trucks, attacking local government offices and prompting state and federal forces to intervene. Ten alleged members of the Cartel of the Northeast were initially killed in the response.
Riquelme told reporters the state had acted “decisively” to take back the town, as videos of the shootout posted on social media showed burned-out vehicles and the facade of Villa Union’s municipal office riddled with bullets.
A damaged black pickup truck with the C.D.N. of the Cartel del Noreste, or Cartel of the Northeast, written in white on its door could be seen on the street in an Associated Press photo.

If only he had kept the border open, there would have been American casualties, too. Those four Mexican police died because of Trump’s racism.
We have used them quite long enough securing other countries borders.
Time to stand the eff up and secure ours

Look at the pix. Texas plates on a vehicle with C. D. N. painted on the doors? Is that not the giveaway?
Then, again, maybe they’re not. Wonder if I painted C. D. N. on my car if I would meet any ‘trouble’ from Mexican authorities crossing the border into Mexico ...
Is it possible the Texas plates could have been obtained legally prior to the letters being put on the driver door? I would guess yes.

You wanna stretch this in contrast to other facts not yet revealed I suppose ANYTHING is possible. Probable? No. Possible? One in a thousand ... million chance.
I’m not stretching anything. The truck could have been operating in Texas and Mexico and used to transfer drugs across border for a long time. Cartels do this all the time and they’ll change vehicles often. Btw, cartels are worth billions. There is not a big need for them to be stealing license plates in Texas so they could use the vehicle to shoot up some city hall in Mehico. If they want a vehicle with legal Texas plates, they get it. Legal plates and legal vehicles have much better chances of getting across. No? Especially when key law enforcement players on the Mexican side are bought and paid for. And they have millions of relatives up in Texas more then willing to do favor$ like legally securing vehicles, registrations etc. Money is not a big obstacle for them. It’s big biz.
Not saying this is what happened, but since you speculated the Texas plates were stolen with no facts to back it up, I thought I’d provide a scenario that has actually occurred many times in the past.
don’t we all think that the US is run by the elite, funded by dirty deals and drug sales?....the fibbers and seeing eye dogs are protecting somebody.....
I still say it would be cheaper to put alligators and crocodiles in the Rio Grande.................
