It all started with a handbag.
Maryana Beyders wasnt just any ordinary bag, though. It was a pink Hermès Kelly clutch, since discontinued by the pricey French fashion house. Beyders husband had gifted her the purse, worth $30,000, as a 30th birthday present.
So after a waiter at a posh New Jersey country club spilled some red wine on the luxury handbag last year, the real estate agent sued for negligence, demanding that the Alpine Country Club pay her the eye-popping price of her spoiled handbag.
That lawsuit had already made local headlines, but on Monday, the club in Demarest, N.J., responded with a surprising move of its own: Its now suing its own employee the waiter who allegedly spilled the wine in the latest legal development after a dinner gone downhill.(snip)
Members of the club are reportedly required to pay a $65,000 initiation fee, plus $19,000 in annual dues.(snip)
In court documents filed Monday, the country club insisted it wasnt liable for the damage to her purse, the Record reported, in addition to suing its own employee.
Errico said she was appalled that the country club has chosen to take on the cross-claim, a motion in which one defendant sues another in the same proceeding.

“So the club did sue the waiter as reported, but then had second thoughts after the publicity went against them.”
According to your source, they filed the lawsuit, media reacted and the retracted the lawsuit ... all on the same day!
Thats what we said. You got it.
Sued him on Mon dropped it on Tues.
“but the FR excerpt clearly includes the line that the club is suing its own waiter.”
Which you have acknowledged is not true.
Just read the linked article and the excerpt at the top of the thread. That's what the rest of us are responding to.
Retract your false statement that the woman was a liar and the club didn't sue, and be done with it.
There is no shame in that.

Really?

He said
: It doesnt seem like the club doubts the woman, or they wouldnt have sued their own waiter, yes?
THEY DIDNT SUE THE WAITER!

But they did on Mon and dropped on Tues. Obstinance, yes.
Show me the lawsuit!
So far we only have the woman’s lawyer apologize for their targeting the waiter.
“But they did on Mon and dropped on Tues. Obstinance, yes.”
They did what?
So far, no details. What did they sue him for?
“Now you’re calling me a liar?”
You would not have to ask if I really had called you a liar.
I guess double negatives confuse you.
The club didn't contest the woman's claim, as evidenced by them suing their waiter, as stated in line 4 of the original post of this thread.
That they dropped the suit later doesn't negate that they did sue in the first place.

I thought we also had the article saying the club sued the waiter, and another article saying the club later dropped the suit after publicity.
What's this "only" business?

Can you read? Go up thread and read Fox, Boston.com and CBS links I posted. I can see you havent them yet or you wouldnt be acting this way.
And there is no lawsuit to show you because it was WITHDRAWN the next day after media got wind.
Goodnight!
Sorry, you misunderstood my post.
Honey if you are making a fuss over the damage to a 30K purse, you cannot afford a 30k purse.
So you cant afford nice stuff and youre jealous.
My apologies. I thought it was from TexasGator.
I didn't realize it was from you.
Thanks again for providing additional information.

No dear, I just know that whatever one spends on trivialities, is what one can lose on trivialities.
No class if one cannot walk away.
Thats just not true. When one buys an expensive item for themselves it is not trivial to them. Sometimes it is sentimental after time, or appreciates in value after time. Dont judge someone over their belongings, its uncouth but popular on the net to do. Can I come over and spill wine on your new rug or in your car and you wont be ticked? Are your rugs trivial? Your nice coat or bag? I bet not.
Do you have any diamonds and gold I can come over and get? Might be trivial to you but not to,me so you can lose it, right?
Thanks I looked for a picture of this purse also. I could not even find a description of the purse.
