I'm full {almost} to the point of pain.
But I'm feeling good. Just me and my adult daughter and son and two dogs.
The dogs did scrap patrol, and were very successful.
The wine was good, the turkey perfect, and we had squash, sweet and mashed taters, a real good dressing and plenty of gravy. Also rolls, and cranberry sauce.
Now I'm full. Can I lay down, or will I risk anything by sleeping on a full stomach?
You’ll be fine. I’m glad you had a nice time.
Go for a walk.
Good idea. It is 72 degrees F and sunny outside.
You risk heartburn and indigestion by lying down after a big meeting. But I’m sure you know that and your question was rhetorical.
Glad to hear you had a nice feast!
Thanks!
I also hope you did, too!
You need to update your blog and post an excerpt.
All the cool kids are doing it.
“Meeting.” Where did that come from? I can’t even blame that one on autofill.
I meant meal.
I have no blog. I guess I ain’t cool...
We had a meeting with a turkey. So it works!
Happy Thanksgiving, FReepers!
Turkey comes out of the oven in 45 minutes. We’re having Brussels sprouts with bacon and parmesan, baked potatoes, and wife’s homemade bread. And cornbread stuffing.
I was going to make fondant potatoes, but I ran out of steam, and decided to just bake ‘em.
A glass of pino noir, and I should be out like a light 10 minutes after retiring the fork.
But we’re going next door for dessert.
Oh well. I can sleep on their couch.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Going for a walk is a good suggestion. Warmest Regards.
They're free, even homeless bums can have several.
If you have some 40 proof liqueur like Frangelico, Sambuca or Kahlua, have a shot of it between each glass or two of water. I find that those liqueurs help settle my stomach. But make sure you are drinking lots of water in between, that is the key.
May I high jack your post to wish all FREEPERS a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving? HAPPY THANKSGIVING FREEPERS FAR AND WIDE. MAY YOU ALL BE BLESSED IN A MIGHTY WAY.
Happy Thanksgiving, humblegunner. I hope you are with family and/or friends. *zzzz* That was a hug and kiss and a dish of applesauce, because I cut up twice as many apples as Tom the Son needed for his pies, so he’s making applesauce.
And off I go to peel potatoes so Bill the Previous Son can make his Potato-Butter Bomba, when he finally gets here.
I think I’m in the same time zone as the OP, but we won’t have supper until after dark.
Your menu sounds just like mine- not a green vegetable in sight....is that wrong..? Lol!
