Somebody tell me what a Trump lanyard is and what it said that got these noses so out of joint.

To be fair, if the officer was wearing his uniform, and the tables were turned and he was wearing a Biden or Obama lanyard, our side wouldn't be happy. I'd the NYPD regs are that the police shouldn't wear ANY paraphernalia hinting at this or that political affiliation, then this officer was in the wrong.

Do I think this is much ado about nothing? Yes...even if the tables were turned there are other things that rank higher on my List of Things That May Trigger Me. But it is what it is.

Apparently “lanyard” is the name of the necklace type thing that a work badge or other kind of identification can hang on, so that you can hang the whole thing around your neck (so the badge or whatever hangs on your front side like around where your belly or chest area is). So this particular one has the name “Trump” written on it. Picture at site probably worth more than the words I wrote above.
