Karen Gillan has revealed male co-stars have had to stand on boxes so they don't appear shorter than her on screen. The former Doctor Who star, 32, who is 5'11, also admitted that on some film sets, bosses have gone so far as to ban her from wearing high heels so she does not tower over her male co-stars. Speaking on the Beauty Fashion Friends podcast, Karen said she has '100 per cent' been stopped from wearing heels in the past.

Karen is 6’4” in those heels. I mean, that is NFL Quarterback height.

Hollywood sets are made smaller or larger according to how the actors are to appear. Saloon doors were made smaller so John Wayne would appear larger.

She played the Nebula character in both Guardian of the Galaxy movies and in two Avengers movies and was in the Jumanji remake with Dwayne Johnson.

Audie Murphy was 5 foot 5 inches, and was a challenge to frame in a scene with other people. One of the biggest ones was framing him with Jimmy Stewart who was 6 foot 3. He worked a lot with Susan Cabot who was 5 foot 2 inches tall so his romance scenes were easier.
But mid 5 foot stars used to be the desired as they could manipulate scenes around them like big doors for women to go through to make them look petite while men went through smaller doors to make them look big and strong.

I loved the Outlander novels & the movie series is a fun representation. Catriona Balfe does a wonderful job bringing the spirit of Claire to life, as Sam Heughan does with Jamie & the actress & actor playing Bri I & Roger have grown on me, as have most of those who are bringing Oulander to life
I once watched, along with my children, a children’s play about Pocahontas with a blue eyed actress with blond braids playing Pocahontas. It seemed strange at first, but the young actress gave it her all & I would guess she probably was given the role because of her gymnastic ability, as she did quite a few cartwheels & back flips on the small round theater stage. Anyway, she convince us she was Pocahontas.
