“ Murkowski or no one”
*

She’s counting on Trump to open up government land for oil exploration and drilling. I Trump should be convicted and should the Dems defeat Pence at next election Alaska will never open up. So, Murkowski won’t vote for impeachment unless there there’s already sixty seven or more yes votes.

I called Cory’s act McCain-Lite...Tried to be the maverick going his own way...Didn’t have the chops for it...

Plus CO is a Blue state and the conservatives are outnumbered by the Denver/Boulder brand of Leftard, as you correctly point out...So we’ll have Chickenpooper advance to the Senate...

While we have seen Nixon and even gay purple lipped rateared dogeaters
Go from a low political ebb to rise to power, the fixation with a
Romney redux is pathetic. DJT jr has a better chance

Doug Jones (D-AL) has to be a certain “no” vote

No doubt about that if he has any hope of keeping his seat. It will depend om his internals. If he is convinced he has a chance to keep his seat then he is a no. The Rats want a bipartisan majority to convict in the worse way to use as a club throughout the 20 campaign. If Jones threatens that he better get his family into witness protection. Manchin is one to watch. He did the right thing with Kavenaugh so it’s hard to say with him too. Sienma is just out there and who knows.

With what the Dems have so far, the only ones that might possible vote for impeachment will either be calling it quits or deciding to run as Dems next time around...

It is only partially due to Trump's being a "Republican" (maybe not so much).

It is that he was an outsider, not a member of the new aristocracy.

Current politicians must have attended the right schools, worked for the right people, etc. to be admitted.

The more appropriate question at this point in time is which Democrat Representatives in Trump districts will vote for impeachment.

There was a time when we would be putting pressure on these types. Now, we don't even pay attention to it. Let's not give these Democrats a pass.

The most important thing to "professional politicians" -- far above anything else -- is getting re-elected.

Any GOP senator who would vote to convict would do so only if they are not running for re-election snd hate Trump and the Constitution, or if they think that by hating Trump and the Constitution they can retain their seat with Democrat/Left votes.

I don't see that happening even if it gets that far.

I think it makes more sense to look at our two party system as Us and Them as opposed to Democrat and Republican.

Trump was a member of Us, and we put him in charge of Them, and Them doesn’t like it one damn bit.

All summed up in one nice little paragraph.

Wow, the negative Nellies are out in full force this morning.

There are more important things, which need our attention more. I need to fetch a leaf blower before the snowstorm arrives.

Missing from this discussion is what Democrat Senators will vote to acquit.

Based on what we have so far the most likely IMO are:

Manchin
Coons
Jones
Sinema
Peters
