Ben Shapiro: Chick-fil-A makes a decision most fowl
Fox News ^ | 11/23/2019 | Ben Shapiro

This week, Chick-fil-A, the immensely popular Christian-owned chicken sandwich giant, caved to the cultural left. For years, the left targeted Chick-fil-A, dating back to the 2012 revelation that Chairman and CEO Dan Cathy supports traditional marriage -- and, horror of horrors, that charities given donations by Chick-fil-A support traditional marriage. This prompted paroxysms of outrage in the media, who quickly demanded that Chick-fil-A toe the Democratic Party line, despite the fact that then-President Barack Obama did not officially endorse same-sex marriage until May 2012.

Key paragraph is this:

If giving to Christian charities now bars you from opening a restaurant at the airport, our culture is beyond the point of no return.

I thought they said the reporting wasn’t accurate.

I went to the local Chick-fil-A last night on the way home, because my wife wanted an order of waffle fries. I never saw them so busy! The line of cars for the drive-through lanes went around the restaurant twice, so I actually saved time by going inside. If Chick-fil-A has been hurt by this week’s news, there is no sign of it here.

Of course the choice is clear when the alternative is to kill someone for a Popeye’s chicken sandwich.

Haha, the waffle fries are a reason NOT to go to Chik-fil-a. Wasn’t impressed with Popeyes either when I had the opportunity in the past. So for fast food chicken, I’ll stick with Bojangles. That or there are a few select places to pick up some fantastic gas station chicken.

In the article, it identifies that the left has been attacking Chick-fil-a for years. The problem here is not their charities, it is their efforts to lead the life they wish. If you can take the time, review Saul Alinsky’s rules and you’ll find a couple that have been used and escalated:

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.”

RULE 10: “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.”

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

I don’t think the words “caved” is the right way to look at it. The company, even willing to go public with their beliefs and take the hits, I think has finally had enough of the headache. They have done their part to be a good organization for many years. Now I believe they are trying to just be a normal business and goive to who they want to without the blatant constant attack of them and their Constitutional beliefs. I’d get enough of it at some point, also. And since no one is putting up a major stink about these attacks for their beliefs except weak public complaining, is it worth it to have to answer these questions on an on call with the press. Is it worth it? Ask Saul. He didn’t beat them. He beat everyone that believes in the business’s right to live their lives like they want within the law. And Saul’s theories were allowed to do so and another Christian group was hammered into submission. And the people that could fight it, didn’t.

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Because most people are either ignorant of the news or don’t have the character to back up their convictions.

This capitulation will make no difference. The attacks will continue on Chick-Fil-A. The left will only be appeased when the owners sell the business and disappear.

Cutting off contributions to noble enterprises like the Salvation Army only hurts the charity (much hated by the Dems and left in general) and emboldens the communists to increase the ferocity of their winning tactics.

Looks like our ‘conservative’ anti-Trump toddler finally got something right. Maybe his constant Trump-bashing is starting to show up in his ratings and his (lack of) contract renewals.

It’s accurate, unfortunately. Those who reported otherwise are either lying or in denial. Sad fact is that CFA caved like chickenshits after being bullied.

Well that’s a pity. Not a chicken-eater myself, but I forgive them. Peace be unto all.

They made a business decision that alienating Christians that stood up for them was worth being able to enter global markets.

A country that punishes restaurants because its founders don't
openly celebrate same-sex marriage is a country destined to
bifurcate. And that's pretty fowl.

The last sentence uses fowl as a play on words.

What’s up with breakfast waffles and chicken? I see the pictures at our local KFC and I nearly toss my cookies. I’d sooner put ketchup on chicken than maple syrup.

Bojangles is always a solid choice to suit fried chicken needs.

The deli at my local Kroger’s grocery store has some of the best fried chicken in the city. And it’s a lot cheaper than a fast food joint.

This is so assinine of Chik Fil A. Did they hire a Popeyes plant? Unbelievable. What can they possibly gain from this move?
