One in four children in Germany suffers from mental illness, a new study of patient data from German health insurance company DAK released Thursday revealed.
The survey of child and teenager mental health was based on data collected from 800,000 children insured by DAK in 2016 and 2017.
The data indicated that 24% of children display psychological anomalies. Just under 2% of children between the ages of 10 and 17 is diagnosed with depression and 2.2% with an anxiety disorder.
According to DAK, extrapolating their patient data onto Germanys total population of 10- to 17-year-olds would mean a total of 238,000 children suffering from these conditions.
The data also showed that the rate of child depression was up 5% in 2017 from the year before. [ ]
Girls are twice as likely as boys to suffer from depression, with a distinct divergence in the data starting at age 14.

WOW!!!!!
Anyone got an idea why?
Are they over diagnosed?
Too many split families?
Since I know almost nothing about Germany, i’m just shooting in the dark :)
It might be what they consider to be a mental illness. I recall reading about the very high numbers of rapes in some European countries. Getting groped or kissed was considered a rape.
Whatever the reason, the solution can only be less liberty and more government.

There are probably similar statistics in the U.S. Anywhere socialist morons have replaced what used to be called education with hysterical snowflake ideologies. These kids aren’t taught to think, they are taught to emote. Hence all the pathology.
Just say hello to them an figure out which one is crazy:
Guten Tag.
Guten Tag.
Guten Tag.
You will die infidel pig-dog!
Now, more importantly, how many German politicians are crazy?
Then I was a “rapist” at 6 when I kissed Carol Ann S##### in kindergarten on the cheek.
And again at 12 when I pinched Joanne C###### on the butt.
And there were a few other unwelcome kisses on the cheek by the time i was 14.
I hope the dems in congress don’t find out.
I know many will disagree with me but it started with nonsense like telling me I HAVE TO wear my seat belt or I’ll get a 120 dollar fine.
If I want to fly through a window in an accident, that’s my ####ing business.
Is it STUPID to not wear a seat belt? Yeah I guess.
Should it be a law?!?!! Hell no.
Agreed.
EVERYBODY wants to be a victim.
They only times i wanted pity was when I was alone with girls on dates.
Wrong.
Children in the United States don’t face as many Muslim men.
Yet.
Here in the US, 6 out of 7 Democrats also have a severe, nearly debilitating, mental illness.
Damn, 25% of the children are offspring of Hitler.
My dad used to ask me “what are you thinking? “ pretty much meant stop.
It is a highly regimented society (I don’t think anyone will argue over that factor). For an American to move in and get situated....I would suggest around 5,000 ‘rules’ have to be memorized and remembered on a daily basis to survive.
But I have doubts that this is the key item for the mental illness chatter. About a decade ago, some Scottish foundation did a study and concluded that around twenty-percent of adults had some element of paranoid schizophrenia (some more than others). Toss on the factor of stress, which half of the German adult population talks about weekly now, and how their summer vacation is the only opportunity to recharge and recover from all the stress in their lives.
Germany is failing society, as is much of Western Europe nations. Too many reasons to stipulate.
“It might be what they consider to be a mental illness.”
I remember looking at this a while back in the US. You can plot a near-perfect correlation between the rise of people with some form of ‘mental illness’ and the number of people working in the field of treating ‘mental illness’.
So something like this doesn’t surprise me a bit.
I went well beyond that in high school, by accident. Wasn’t looking at what my hand had found behind me. SLAP! I said “sorry” and that was it...no expulsions, no listing as a sex-offender. Nothing, but a girl who knew how to handle things in a mature way.

I used to wear seat belts years before they were required...like you say it was a choice...but for me, I’m convinced showing that shoulder belt to a cop kept me out of a lot of tickets (I think 8 in a row). Now that everyone else wears seatbelts and it is the law, I haven’t been nearly as successful getting out of tickets.
I also remember in California when they debated motorcycle helmet laws. The argument was that the lack of helmets were driving up the cost of auto insurance, due to the more severe injuries. So they finally passed the law...do I really have to tell you guys which direction auto insurance went after the helmet law took effect (and no, it wasn’t down)?

The Soviets would send dissidents and other ‘complainers’ to mental institutions because they had created the ‘perfect society’, so anyone complaining had some kind of mental issue.
One has to wonder how we’re viewed by that ‘profession’. After all, most people here believed that Trump did not ‘collude’ with Russia in 2016, when it was obvious to anyone with a brain that he did collude...at least until the Mueller report came out, that was. Likewise, we here complain about some ‘deep state’ trying to undercut Trump, when all of that has been debunked (at least until Dec. 9).
Being ‘mentally ill’ is what the leaders of society say it is, and that doesn’t always mean they’re NOT the ones who are ill. I’m sure in Nazi Germany being against the holocaust was considered some form of mental illness - after all, how could anyone be against punishing the Jews, after what they (supposedly) had done to the German people?
lol
That was so BAD. :)
