Anyone should be allowed to identify as black regardless of the colour of their skin or background, according to Left-wing university leaders.
The Universities and Colleges Union has set out its stance in a report on the ongoing row about whether men should be able to self-identify as women and be treated as female regardless of their anatomy.
The UCUs position statement did not just stand by its support for self-identification of gender, but also insisted people can choose their own race, saying: Our rules commit us to ending all forms of discrimination, bigotry and stereotyping. UCU has a long history of enabling members to self-identify whether that is being black, disabled, LGBT+ or women.

I am a black lesbian midget. While I am at it, I am also a doctor, engineer, CPA, lawyer and Indian Chief!
I think that might be another way of virtue signaling, since white people are allegedly the cause of all the trouble in the world. That trace of non-white ancestry gets you a pass or gives you victim status. According to some stuff in my family history, a 6th great-grandfather married a woman who was either Cherokee or Catawba. I have a photo of one of their grandchildren — who would be some kind of a distant cousin— and he sure looks part Indian. It’s something I came across in my research. No one among the old-timers in my family ever mentioned it, probably because they didn’t know about it. I don’t make a big deal out of it because if it’s true, I am about the same percentage Indian as Elizabeth Warren, but it is an interesting tidbit of family history. That family tree is pretty well-documented and I found an article online from the 1930s that discussed the possibility that 6th great-grandma was an Indian, and the writer said that a lot of people at that time flat-out denied it was true. I guess at the time, not being Indian was considered virtuous. Today, the opposite is true.
That would be even better.
But if your black you get reparations. :-D
“same here, I always click black on surveys. I like to throw off the surveys.”
I always check “black” on banking documents. It does nothing to your loan, but helps defeat government meddling about blacks being “under banked”.
You still have some brown crust on the bread unless you slice it off. :)
You know, I obviously didn’t think this through. It may be time for the identity transition.
I identify as black starting today.
Elizabeth Warren self identifies as an Indian and her indian name is Psychojawea.
They had that affirmative action and hate crime thing going for them, super citizen status, and somehow how these progressives thought their way into bringing it all full circle and making it meaningless.
Lol, so let me get this straight, if I “identify as black”, I can move to the UK (I’ll identify as Jamaican so they have to let me in as a citizen of the Commonwealth), then I can get bonus points on admission to Cambridge, and apply for a minority scholarship?
Where do I sign up?
I always knew I was black because I could dance and loved to eat fried chicken.
That’s not racist, I can say that because I’m black now.
Black, female, lesbian, disabled, muslim.
That should cover most of your bases.
Except you should be free to switch back to identifying as a white man when pulled over by the police or applying for a mortgage.
LOL. If this were in the US, this would go terribly wrong. Rachel Anne Dolezal found out the hard way.
Tell that to Elizabeth Warren, the first woman of color hired by Harvard Law.
How about people identify as citizen with all laws, rules and regulations applying equally to all citizen with no special privilege to any group.
There must be a punishment for that. It discriminates so-o-o unfairly against hotheads and dimwits
