Rita, for the longest time I thought the only prohibited content was in those tables at the top of the post.

Then I saw others suspended and went back to the list and realized that other prohibited sites have been added in the comments. So I use a webpage search and I already view 250 posts per page but then I found that the domain name I was looking at wasn't listed, but the publication was prohibited by stating the name instead of the .com.

Then I noticed comments in the OP in and around the lists also infer more limitations.

Are there any FREEQs or FReepers available right now to work together to create a userfriendly list, separating cartoon, websiste and image considerations that we can reference and understand more quickly? I can do the HTML to make links active. I will try to do something like that when I have time - for now I just have advisories I ping. If anyone is willing, able to take that on now, perhaps working with others, please let us know.

If you come up with something - all of FR might pay you many plantains in tribute! Perhaps a new list would even be posted in place of the current one? :)

Right before Donate is the copy right list info. Check it out. The sites that do not allow anything are not that numerous. Everything else is excerpt/link only—but omit images.

The other choice is to use the posting feature to post an article to the forum and then link it to Q thread. That process has some built ins to help prevent inadvertent errors.

may i make a recommendation?

always use raw links prefaced if necessary by text containing the title of the article.

the link restrictions apply to raw links, but if the raw links are not visible (that is, if href links are used instead of raw links), then it is more difficult to scan and detect policy violations. using raw links could help self-policing and reduce admin overhead.

as for photos, minimize those to a short well known and well recognized list of common sources, since the links for those cannot easily be scanned and policy violations detected.

i know it is fun and neat to use href links and show off one’s html knowledge, but in this particular case, keeping it simple might be the lesser evil.

Oh, Geeez. How can the minutiae of risks Ever be overcome, if the Issues thing is not simplified?

Does Admin know the laborious task of tracking beyond the Copyright List? Sub-issues are not easily tracked or made visible to posters, on the Copyright List?

I would think there could be a way to work together with Admin to include process that protects against the additional risks, related to these Additional dangers found in these Sub-ISSUES.

As for the rest of your questions..I am not a MOD and have no clue. I thought someone complained about the Garrison cartoon so that’s why it was pulled a couple of days ago?

As I explained last night, based on my own research and conclusions. Ben Garrison has his own website GrrGraphics.

When I went there, he had a copy right notice posted. No using his graphics without permission. He also has a link to hit, if you want to try to get permission.

I have no idea what changed—maybe he just found out and complained, or maybe FR is preparing for attempts to censor us. After all, they are going after all alternative media, and conservative voices where people could see something other than the approved narrative.
