That was my thought too. Banned for life and a few years in jail for assault with a deadly weapon.Way to harsh (and I am a Steelers fan). A rest of the season suspension and a fine.

Punishment in the NFL is always skill related. The better the player the more the owners will be willing to hire the offender after a suspension.
Even if it’s a season long suspension he will be back.
