Thursday’s Browns-Steelers game ended with an ugly brawl that saw Cleveland defensive end Myles Garrett remove Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph’s helmet and swing it at his unprotected head.

Current and former NFL players watching from home were stunned and took to Twitter with reactions predicting a season-long ban, while James Harrison said an assault like that would warrant jail time if it happened on the street.

Even money bet that Garrett will accuse Rudolph of using the N-word.

“Then did you also notice, like I did, that Rudolph, after being brought down, was attempting to rip of Garrett’s helmet first?”

I DID notice that! Watch the video...
Dont want no trouble dont start none.

That being said Garrett made contact with the helmet to the unprotected skull. It might not be depraved because of the circumstances involved. But it sure looks like indifference to me!

Didn’t watch this game, so anyone know why Steelers were actually running a pass play, down 14 with 8 seconds left?

I missed it. I was watching my Pitt Panthers defeat NC Tarheels 34-27 in OT.

What a night: Pitt vs NC, Steelers vs Browns and a Trump rally in Louisiana!

They showed the incident after the game.

were beating the hell out of each other.

Kind of pointless considering they have pads and helmets on.

I always got a kick out of watching hockey fights and the combatants busting their knuckles on their opponent's helmet.......LOL!

“Garrett living dangerously

Those were some very large men grabbing him after he hit their QB

They coulda hurt him

As one who hates the new sissy rules

A bit of a suspension is enough

Scrawny lanky QB wants to get froggy with high wattage tight end ...six four 275 pounds of hard muscle

Shite happens”

There is something seriously wrong with you that maybe a whack to the head with a helmet would fix. The punk belongs in jail and out of the NFL for assault with a deadly weapon. A hit like that from a hard, blunt object can easily kill or disable someone for life.

It was to most of us an obscene reaction to being provoked. Two weeks ago the Browns had to let a player go who threatened to kill someone in a tweet (remember that?). These guys need to be taught some refinement and civilized behavior before they get signed by the NFL. Their natural responses are ghetto. The kneeling situation has empowered them with an attitude that they don’t live by our rules.

Punishment in the NFL is always skill related. The better the player the more the owners will be willing to hire the offender after a suspension.

Even if it’s a season long suspension he will be back.

One of the Steelers kicked a member of the Browns in the head while the latter was on the ground. Fortunately the Browns player still had a helmet on.

The NFL continues to reap what it’s sown...

Scrawny lanky QB wants to get froggy

I dunno...after a couple of his interceptions, he was the one who made the tackles...by himself.

Some FReepers are too young to remember Conrad Dobler.

He was an offensive guard who played for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was known throughout the NFL for being an aggressive biter. He would take chunks of meat from bare arms and legs of opposing players. Very dirty player.

With that poor of an impulse control, I doubt that his post-NFL life will last that long.
