Who? Who but Apple fanbois will pay this price? And before I get flamed, just know I am an Apple fanboi. I like Apple. But this is exhorbitant.
especially considering you can get a really powerful windows laptop for around $400 or so- then format it and put linux on it- or something- I’m not seeing the advantage to an apple computer? Is it more powerful or something? What more can it do that a cheaper windows computer can’t? I’ve never really understood the draw of apple at the prices they charge? I could see the draw if they too were around $400-$500 or so- Are they better at graphics or something? Their apps don’t seem to be much of an advantage over windows apps? Less viruses maybe?
I can take or leave Apple and that is a pricey box.
Earlier this year, the engineers all got new laptops to their specifications.
One of those people for whatever reason simply doesn’t use a 4000 dollar super duper laptop. It collects dust in an office.
It’stoo much trouble to take home apparently and use a VPN. Raising a fuss and being allowed (reluctantly) to install the same VPN on a home PC is more sensible.
Mind blowing.

More than my dad ever paid for a car in his life.
Not really. This is a professional Workstation grade laptop, not intended for just surfing the web.
I just went to Dell.com and configured their closest laptop to match the Apple MacBook Pro announced with a matching Intel i7 processor, near matching AMD graphics (only 4GB of Graphics RAM instead of the 6GBs in the Apple), matching screen resolution, 512GB SSD, 16GB of RAM, fingerprint security, etc, and it came to a $500 higher $2866 price, compared to the $2399 of the Apple MacBook Pro 16. . .
That Dell price was with a supposed $1233 discount. So, no, its not an exorbitant price for the purpose it is designed and offered to the people it is intended.
Starting at $2,399 ?
Good grief....After tax about $2,600...Gak~
It is the same price structure as the previous generation...
