Two people were killed in New Jersey early Sunday when a Porsche launched into the air and smashed into the second story of a commercial building, authorities said.
The sports car was traveling at a high rate of speed on Hooper Avenue when the driver lost control, hit the center median and smashed through a window on the buildings second floor, Toms River Police spokeswoman Jillian Messina told Fox News via email.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m., Sgt. Vincent Pedalino told NJ.com. He said the building, which houses a real estate office and several other businesses, was unoccupied at the time.

So they blame the sports car in the headline?
Sheesh! Everyone who’s ever driven a Porsche knows damn well you have to be extra careful with all that power. The driver is to blame here.
Like second story high
If dead men could talk, the driver would have told LEA that he wasn't driving, Jim Beam was.
How? On a hill?
Sounds like a malfunction of the Speed Racer-style jump button.
Force = mass x acceleration
Force = mass x acceleration + ETOH = impact deceleration
skidded across 4 lanes of traffic?
Must have been on a highway bridge and ejected into the building.
Was the Porsche upset about something? A nasty breakup with a Jaguar maybe? Who knows what kind of problems it was having. There’s no trouble like car troubles.
1. Jim Beam (as noted above); &
2. Jack Daniels (Jim's mellower and smoother friend)
That’s like a .50 or something. Where are the moms against porsches now? Where’s nannie bloomers? DO SOMETHING!!!
One article I just read stated that the car hit an embankment and that is what caused it to go airborne.
The car’s occupants must have been drinking Red Bull.
It gave them wings.
Fun while it lasted.
Well, heck, it's the car's fault.
Better yet, blame the Germans for MAKING such a car...Volkswagen AG.
The driver hit the brakes while turning slightly left. The sudden weight shift caused the car to go into oversteer and turn sharply left. When the car hit the curb on the left side of the highway, the lower passenger corner was probably just above the pavement from the turn and deceleration. The corner hit the curb hard, causing the car to flip and become airborne.
Police identified the victims as Braden DeMartin, 22, and Daniel Foley, 23, both of Toms River.
(6:30 am..
Up all night?)
The pic definitely does not show the type of road situation I was expecting.
The original story at NJ.com, and every other internet source (likely all derived from it), suspiciously repeats the word “driver” but never “owner”. This has that “stolen car” smell that fits with the extreme recklessness. Anyone know?
From the pics it appears the Porsche was already tail-first when the right side tires caught the curbing, forcing it to barrel-roll into the building. Thats an easy one for investigators to document. Position of the vehicle in the building supports that. One certainty is they were hauling a$$ when they lost control. Speed kills. Speed + Stupid kills faster.
The business’ name is ‘EXIT Realty Elite’
