With a combined age of 211 years, one couple in Austin, Texas, has been named the oldest living couple in the world, according to Guinness World Records. John Henderson is 106 and his wife, Charlotte, is 105. The Hendersons have a love story that has quite literally stood the test of time. On December 15, they will celebrate 80 years of marriage. The two met in class at The University of Texas in 1934. Charlotte was studying to become a teacher, while John was a guard for the football team. They married in 1939 during the Great Depression and spent just $7 on the hotel room for their honeymoon. In fact, John is also the oldest living former UT football player. For the past 84 years, he's held a tradition of attending at least one Longhorn football game each year. Both are still very healthy, and John exercises every day. Ten years ago, the two moved into the Longhorn Village, a senior living community associated with a University of Texas alumni group. Hook 'Em! So what's the secret to a long life and happy marriage after all? Live life in moderation and be cordial to your spouse, John said.

I think bacon plays an important part in longevity.
It seems to be working so far.
...And coffee...
Wow, they look great for their ages.......good for them.
That SJW crap isn’t even funny in sarcasm any more.
Please stop using the “word” “cisgender.” It is borne of total and complete quackery that is known as “Gender Identity.”
Humans are not “cis” anything.
Molecules are cis and trans - theyve appropriated chemistry culture.

IMO, compromise plays a big part. Married 43 years.

“Live life in moderation and be cordial to your spouse
Sounds like great advice.
Wow. I’m surprised that liberals even know that much science. Seriously.
My Uncle and his wife fell one month short of 82 years of marriage when she passed way at age 103 in May 2018. He passed a few months later at 101.
I believe if she had lived a few more weeks, they would have been the longest married coupe in the US at that time
Why did he marry someone so old?
Anyway, when I was little, I asked my grandmother why everyone is so old in her neighborhood? (for you millennials and younger types, people used to know their neighbors back then)
She said that they weren’t old when everyone moved in (the housing was new at the time and I knew it). Whoops, dumb question by me.
Needless to say, that neighborhood is all ethnic now.
That is amazing. May you share some of those hearty - and lucky - genes!
They’ll still be voting D in Austin for the next 100. No sarcasm.
I hope so! My father and most of his other siblings made it into their late 90’s.
My mom, on the there hand, was less than a year older than me when she passed.
