Man, talk about getting the greatest bang out of taxpayer dollars - the Voyager program takes the cake! Made even more incredible by the fact that in the 1970s, when the Voyager spacecrafts were designed, constructed and launched, the most powerful supercomputer at NASA (the ILLIAC IV supercomputer) had far less computational power than your average smartphone today.
