Townhall is going to start charging 45 bucks a year to read their most popular columnists. I'm really going to miss Kurt, as the column is a bit too discretionary for my budget these days, and the ads aren't panning out.
Hadn’t seen that. Oh well, another source drying up.
The readership will plummet as a result.
If it’s that important to you, one would think you’d spell his name correctly.
fyi
Salem Media is imploding financially. Look for their talk radio network to disappear too.
Started this morning. Many articles are still free.
Fair enough. Still reeling with the permanent loss of Virginia to the Dems, and their ensuing lawfare partnership with the Deep State democrats in Congress, to really be concerned with other things now.
He has his own site:
Unfortunately, it’s having some technical issues right now. If you click “articles” you get “Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 72 bytes) in /data/23/3/17/54/3343217/user/3730092/htdocs/kswp/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 2473”
Bye-bye Townhall I’m retired. I can’t afford subscriptions to a lot of things. My money is going to FR.
I won’t even pay for TV/cable. Damn sure not paying to access a news blog. Won’t pay for fox Nation either.
Congratulations to Townhall ... your (pay)wall will successfully keep me out. Goodbye.
Too pricey for the product, IMO.
I suspect sponsors are being threatened with boycotts. One of the left’s best weapons. In other news Delta will be showing gay sex on flights because of LBGT “pressure” and if you don’t want your kids seeing it on the screen next to them too bad.
Just remember Rhett Butler’s final quote in “Gone With The Wind” as my “give-a-sheit” meter is low on power for this one.
Looks like some one forgot to update their .php database and or WordPress
See the power of walls!
Love, Donald
Goodbye TownHall. We too are retired. Daily Caller has launched a “Patriots Only” page; they want $120 per year!
I realize the leftist publications all require paid subscriptions too, as their readership plummets.
Ah well, the less time I spend reading in the morning the more time I have to paint.
It’s an extra column, not his regulars. They get plenty of ad revenue. American Spectator, on the other hand, is an excellent site that does not have ads. I’m too cheap to sign up, but I enjoy the handful of freebies each month.
“Started this morning. Many articles are still free.”
plus, how porous is their paywall (e.g., searching headlines from google will get you in), and how strong is the paywall, e.g., will Just Read addon get you in from chrome, Reader View in from FF, NoScript, etc.)?
