Many states in the USA ban therapy for gays and transgenders. Even for people that are trying to get out of that lifestyle! The term “conversion therapy” brings up images of forced kidnappings from a cult to get the person out of the cult. That type of thing was rarely successful - and is a lot different than professional mental health counseling.

Although I use the term “professional” very loosely. Most mental health therapists are so “woke” now that it doesn't matter if their patient wants to be gay or medically violate their body in order to “become” another sex.

Almost every therapist, upon hearing of some gender dysphoria, immediately refers the person to the nearest gender clinic - and of course all they do is affirm the dysphoria.

Not sure of the date— but the Diagnostic Manual-— the DSM which has been updated frequently to where is it now VII, or VIII, was decidedly changed by the Psychiatrists on the Treatment protocol panel.

Psychiatrists (many of whom, btw are themselves closet queers, and thus were voting for self protection and manipulation of the diagnostic requirement) removed homosexuality from a defined mental disease to a “syndrome” reflective of multiple causalities, none of which were... CHOICE of the behaviour, or addiction to the behaviour... etc.

A travesty, not unlike the changing of the requirements for mental health treatment long before or of a similar timeline for those considering physical transformation of gender in opposition to the genetic genotype identifying male or female human. The Professor Emeritus at Johns Hopkins is ridiculed for his 50 years of experience in transgenderism and the illness that drives a need to change physically which rarely meets expectations and which drives a high percentage to suicide.

So if you are an unhappy homosexual the govt will force you to stay homosexual by banning medical treatment to change your orientation. Insanity.

There are some people who are born homosexual. They can't change any more than heterosexuals can change orientation. I couldn't stop being heterosexual if I wanted to.

There are also people who are not inherently homosexual but have been forced into homosexuality by circumstances, e.g. molested as a child. These people tend to be very unhappy.

In either case, it's not normal. A lesion has interfered with the reproductory system.

I suspect that some cases of congenital homosexuality and some cases of transsexuality are the result of chimerism.
