I don't think I understand your question, but here goes -- the researcher used as a working hypothesis that the hiding spots described in the Copper Scroll referred to the Qumran complex, and tested the idea with a metal detector. He hasn't dug up anything (that would require approval by the IAA, and affiliation with a university I'm sure) but has tested his identifications with the tools at hand.

I never saw a genuine "treasure hunter" who broadcast the "secret locations" of his "finds" to the whole world...

The first point that comes to mind is, "If this guy is really 'onto something important' -- he would have every archaologist in Israeli government and academia dogging his every step." (Ex: Egypt's Zahi Hawass...)

Only a video actor carries a (replica) copper scroll into the field -- and has politicians (not archæologists) along when he "reveals" the location of "tons of gold"...

As bad as looters are in the Middle east, if there was anything to these "finds", there would be nothing left but potholes there, by now...

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nope -- not buying it...
I was critical of the writer. If the contents were found then it goes without saying the location is known,
I’ve never understood the fascination with finding religious artifacts. The power of God lies in those who believe.
[[but I’m sure they’ll find a tunnel to Israel, one of these seasons]]
Nah- they’ll be too busy spending thousands having a sliver of wood analyzed for age, then running 1/2 way aroudn hte world to research Nordic wood carvings to see if the wood they used was similar to what they found or not to discover anythign of significance
“Could this sliver of wood really be from an ancient carving dating back to 40 BC? Tune in next year to find out”
The Ark has already been found.... Israel has it... they just don’t want everyone to know about it.
Ron Wyatt found it a decade ago.
But they did find it! Unfortunately in season 2, they drilled a hole right through it, sea water rushed in and now the box and contents are totally destroyed. So there is nothing left to find. What a let down! :)
"Never understood why people think a 3500 year old wooden box (and an even older wooden boat) would still be around to be found."
Plenty of far older wooden artifacts survive in various Egyptian tombs. Middle East = DRY climate = minimal (or no) decay.
Was it in the hold of the Ark that has remains in an “unreachable” spot on Ararat? Wouldn’t that be a hoot - finding the Ark in the Ark....
I believe Ron Wyatt found it in 1982 (located 20 feet under Golgotha). The reasons he left it there are discussed in multiple interviews and articles. Also, he did find an ivory pomegranate linked to the first temple of Solomon and gave it to the Israel antiquities department. It is the ONLY known item ever discovered from the first temple (and there's a story behind that too....was stolen and then bought back). The Israeli government knows exactly where it is but I believe is going to leave it there until the time is right. (right now it would start a war...fanatics what it in their plan to rebuild the temple, etc...) there is a lot of compelling evidence.
“20 feet under Golgotha” is on the floor of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. I was just there a couple of weeks ago. I don’t think that’s where you mean. About 10,000 people walk past that spot every single day.
Oak Island. I’m sure it’s on Oak Island.
The dumb@$$3ry of some comments on FR never ceases to amaze me.
A little sea water destroyed stone tablets?
Never understood why people think a 3500 year old wooden box (and an even older wooden boat) would still be around to be found.
Maybe because if they could find biblical writings in a cave near the Dead Sea, they can find a wooden box preserved the same way. The arid climate might make it possible.
Sorry, 20 feet directly under the exact spot where he was crucified. If you are looking at Golgotha it would be directly to the left. Again, Ron Wyatt lays it all out and it’s easy to follow.
