Diana, not a seamstress and would fail to qualify in running a sewing machine. A necessity to create a project for sewing class in order to receive the credit for Home Economics. The pair of pajamas did not last through one week’s slumber.
Female adults in my mom’s family knitted and crocheted all the time. She didn’t really care for it finding her niche in painting and other things. Thus, my sister and I were not introduced into the past time.
Enjoy creating egg shell mosaics, painting furniture, finding ways to make something tossed into something new again.

Qiviut - Chickens in the Road It’s been some time since the site was visited (before my computer crashed)So many URLs collected and lost (sigh)!
Back around 2015, I saw a pattern for a mason jar cover (crocheted). Having no need for something as large as a mason jar, I set about to convert the pattern to something smaller, like a jelly jar. I do some jelly canning and give it as gifts and it's nice to also give someone a cover for the jar after the jelly is all gone. Along with the cover, they get two candles a tea candle and a battery tea candle (not everyone wants a real flame).
An aunt of mine died and left some beautiful cotton thread and some baby yarn. She has two granddaughters one was pregnant at the time and one had gotten married about a month before. I made a baby blanket out of her baby yarn for the new great-grandbaby and then, for a wedding present, made a set of jelly jar candle covers and a doily out of the thread. While doing this, I re-designed the top of the jelly jar cover prior, it did not cover the band where the top screwed on now it does and I think it's a nicer look.
Pictures the original design, one lit up & one not. The one on the porch rail is the new design.
What a loving thought to share your talent in making memories for family. The soft glow of candlelight and the smell of evergreen. Comforting...
These use no candles, but Christmas lights.

I love lighting in the garden! Thanks for sharing. :)
Homemade vanilla... This might be of interest.

Thanks so much for this link! I love the flower lights idea for two reasons:
11]. When my garden dies out in the fall (like now!), I find it quite depressing. This year, I planted late zinnias, but I think the frost got them last night. To light the garden up during the long dark hours of winter would be a mental lift. I have plenty of metal fence posts that I use to support tomato cages/plants so they would make great ‘stalks’. Here are some zinnia pics that I posted on the garden thread yesterday, if you’re interested:

[2] This past year, my elderly mom got rid of a lot of partially or totally non-working Christmas lights/decorations (outside lighted deer made from branches, etc.), plus they were getting too hard for her to deal with. We are in a rural area so flower lights up the sidewalk or along the driveway/fence would be really pretty. As simple as these are to make, if a light had an issue, it could easily be replaced. I have bookmarked the page I’m going to have to set up a new database for all these craft ideas - I keep my knit/crochet patterns on a database so I don’t ‘lose’ them, also have them if the website links quit working.
The Homemade Vanilla . a present I wish someone would give me since I haven’t had time to make it for myself. I have a couple of nieces who like making homemade gifts . I’ll have to leave them some big hints!!
I love gardens! Flower gardens feed our soul while others feed our bellies

Flowers AND butterflies :-) DH and I were discussing the butterflies we’ve recently seen. If a caterpillar thought like we think, what would he think when he becomes a chrysalis and then a beautiful butterfly. Life’s stages
Just something to think about. What are our stages in life?

Oh my! I’ve collected all kinds of tips over the years. Remember the magazines FAMILY CIRCLE, WOMAN’S DAY, LADIES HOME JOURNAL? They were always filled with DIY projects. I’ve boxes of articles and finding more on the net because those boxes have been unavailable for months. We moved last year, remodeling the new (to us) house and living haphazardly in cramped quarters for the next few months. Love those old magazines published. Then politics stepped into the pages and the mags went belly up.
I long for a completed kitchen, unpacked boxes and order in my life. But most of all I anticipate a long, long, hot bath. Not shower person here.
I remember doing crewel ok in the late 1960’s. enjoyed l f that type of work. Now, I actually like to try to mix by crafty Fiber arts. :-)
ok = work
Not much ‘into’ sewing, but did enjoy learning the many types of stitches used to create the finished product. The only thing that would wrinkle my nose in disgust would be those times the needle needed to be re-threaded. :-)
Nice response so far, but please don’t ping me I can’t handle another ping listing. I’ll just lurk for now and hopefully contribute.
That’s fine! People are going to love your quilts, though! Just sayin’... :)
I’m here and excited
We are just back from a weekend 6 hours away - wedding. Will need a few days to recover.
Thanks for posting, this is really cute and well done. Looks like something I would have attempted. I love doing invented shapes with a crochet hook. I have some pumpkins I will post to you.
MWH: I'm NOT ping-list pinging you, LOL!
I know... what a great gift. Nice quilt blocks and I am all for the crazy free for all quilting stitches. Looks great.
You should see the clothes Susan sews for herself and the beautiful sweaters she knits! I miss seeing her every few days just for that reason, alone. She used to teach a sewing class at the UW, I think and was an instructor for Joann or Michael’s, I forget which. She’s super-talented.
