Back around 2015, I saw a pattern for a mason jar cover (crocheted). Having no need for something as large as a mason jar, I set about to convert the pattern to something smaller, like a jelly jar. I do some jelly canning and give it as gifts and it's nice to also give someone a cover for the jar after the jelly is all gone. Along with the cover, they get two candles a tea candle and a battery tea candle (not everyone wants a real flame).
An aunt of mine died and left some beautiful cotton thread and some baby yarn. She has two granddaughters one was pregnant at the time and one had gotten married about a month before. I made a baby blanket out of her baby yarn for the new great-grandbaby and then, for a wedding present, made a set of jelly jar candle covers and a doily out of the thread. While doing this, I re-designed the top of the jelly jar cover prior, it did not cover the band where the top screwed on now it does and I think it's a nicer look.
Pictures the original design, one lit up & one not. The one on the porch rail is the new design.

What a loving thought to share your talent in making memories for family. The soft glow of candlelight and the smell of evergreen. Comforting...
These use no candles, but Christmas lights.
