A wildfire swept through the star-studded hills of Los Angeles on Monday, destroying several large homes and forcing celebrities like Kathy Griffin, LeBron James and Arnold Schwarzenegger to flee along with thousands of other people.
Meanwhile, a blaze in Northern California wine country exploded in size.
Terrified students at Mount Saint Mary's University were also forced to flee around midnight, taking what they could in their cars, as the flames ramped up toward the campus. Classes at UCLA were also canceled.
The flames roared up a steep hillside near the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles' Brentwood section illustrated the danger the state faces as high winds batter both ends of California and threaten to turn any spark into a devastating inferno.

I thought she was near bankruptcy and not getting steady work. Yet, she still lives in multi-million dollar home?
Im biting my tongue too.
Didnt LeBron Jamess house get threatened by fire?
Bad forest management. They always scream about “old growth forest” and what not, and don’t allow controlled burns or logging or even brush cutting.
Its so ironic that the green new deal will ban gas and oil in favor of electricity among other forms. This same electricity is responsible for the wild fires n CA. When its reported that a football sized forest goes up every 3 seconds, what is the percentage damage to the atmosphere by these fires compared to all other sources?
Did you post this article to gain sympathy for Griffin?
If so, it wont work.
There are all sorts of pedal-powered generators...
It’s truly shocking how make-up can make her look almost human.
Without make-up, she really looks like an alien creature from outer space.
She is a perfect example of one’s inner evil being manifested in her outward appearance.

What are all those Teslas and Toyota “Pious” cars doing for an electric charge?
Are they even able to drive to safety on a minimal battery level?
I agree, and believe, in that. Yes...
My grandson was just deployed to California to help fight the fires. Last spring he was telling me that all the moisture they had been having last winter was going to cause a bad fire season when all the resulting undergrowth dried out. I was skeptical, but his prediction turned out to be valid for California.
So this was predicted 6 months ago. I am not sure what the government down there did to prepare for it.
The drought ended last year, which means there is plenty of vegetation to burn.
I have a Nuisance License so I can shoot beaver.
That’s one beaver that NEEDS to be shot
Didn't they ban straws?
Is she safe?
Those “healthy forests” burn hot and fast as a part of a natural process to clean out the dry dead and rotting old growth that litters the forest floor. In the old days, loggers would go through the forest and harvest fallen trees and old growth lumber and clean out much of the dead wood. That was back when we worked with Mother Nature to preserve the forests. They cut fire breaks in the forest and provided emergency access roads and maintained that access. But, alas, the California freaks were convinced that any human touch or contribution to this planet is bad. So they left mother nature to her own devices.
Today, California’s idea of “working with Mother Nature” is to do nothing and let nature run it’s course, until there is a fire. Then they scream and cry and blame global warming and humans while we declare emergencies and curse Mother Nature.
Let the logging industry go back into the forests, FOR FREE and harvest dead and fallen lumber to process for profit. Let the free market work with Mother Nature and see if it helps prevent these super fires.
“And we all shine on....”
There are logical consequences that can be forecast from decisions that are made.
If you vote Democrat and a Democrat is elected, then tax money is not spent based on getting the most efficient and effective use out of every hard-earned taxpayer provided dollar.
Elected Democrats spend tax money based on what is best for them and the Democrat Party.
One is almost tempted to ask for donations of gasoline.
Yes.
Yes it is.
