Did You Know Senators Can’t Campaign During an Impeachment Trial?

You are partially correct. If there is an impeachment and it goes to the Senate for a trial, no Senator can campaign (for any office) during the trial.

To be clear, I am 99% sure the actual rule is that they have to be present at the hearing (on the Senate Floor) Mon-Sat until they are finished - during work hours.
